Reception tables, which way to go?

Hi! I'm starting to over think things for our reception, and I was hoping I could get some opinions :) Our reception room/hall is a little on the smaller side and I'm trying to figure out the best way in which to utilize the space for seating. The venue has both long rectangle tables & 5ft round tables for seating. I would prefer to do round tables for the look, however if using the long rectangle tables will give us better seating, I am totally open to doing that. Has anyone ever used long rectangular tables? How did it look as either a guest or if it was your wedding? Our guest list is about 120 people (about 90 adults, the rest kids) including the wedding party. Here is a link to the floor plan of the hall for dimensions. http://www.auburnhall.com/floor.cfm The Banquet hall is where the reception will be held, the lounge room is a room with some couches and extra seating for people to relax in, and the lodge room is where our ceremony will be held. Sorry if this is long, I look forward to hearing everybody's opinions and ideas!!

Did they give you an idea of how many people can fit comfortable at each table?  You could always do the math and figure out if either setting would allow you to use fewer tables.  Otherwise, I'm not sure if one would take up less space than the other.

I used to work at an event center and all I did was plan room setups and help people with their events.  6 ft rectangles take up less space.  I like the clean polished, sophisticated look of rectangles, but some don't so we used to suggest setups with a mixture of the two for larger events.  Usually with the rectangles in the middle and the rounds around.  Depends on where the dance floor is though, you'd probably want the rounds closer to the dance floor because they're easier to get around (no pun intended :)Good luck.

I used rectangular tables and preferred them over the rounds.
