Fall Reception Location

I need some help finding a fall reception location for 2010. My fiance and I both really want to do fall and go heavy with the fall theme (i.e. pumpkin centerpieces, carmel apples - the works!). I am in love with the idea of a barn, but I've only found two on this side of the state (Blue Dress Barn & Mill Creek Barn) and I'm having difficutly connecting with the owner so I'm looking for something comparable. We live in GR with family and friends in the Chicago area so it was perfect. Any recommendations for a barn (or orchard or castle or something similar with a good view of fall colors) that allows you to bring in your own caterer/bartender on this side of the state, preferably around $2000 or less?

FI and I are having our reception here next September:http://hitchingpostevents.com/ . It's in Ravenna, about 30 minutes north of GR.I believe it's $1,500 for up to 175 people. The barn can hold up to 300 though. The owners are fantastic people. They're booking fast, I had to postpone my date a week for September 2010 because it was already taken!

I am getting married at the Post Family Farm in Hudsonville this September. You should check out their website postfamilyfarm.com They have TONS of fall decor that you can use. its a pumpkin patch as well so you will have all of the pumpkins you could possible imagine! Good luck!

Ahh, yes! The Post Family Farm would be an awesome option as well. :) However, they require that if you serve alcohol, you use their contracted bartending service. You can bring in your own food though. :) Their room rental is also a little over your budget, a Saturday night reception is $2,400. (Changed my user name). Thank you so much for the recommendations! I think I am totally in love with the Hitching Post barn in Ravenna - thank you, I never even came across this one. Just by reading their website and communicating through email, they are extremely nice and seem so helpful! They are extremely affordable, include so much for that price, and seem very flexible and enjoy doing weddings (weird - imagine a wedding venue that actually likes weddings! If only the BDB/MCB owners understood that concept!). Again, a HUGE thank you!!
