Sorry so long!The Merion-B+ We had our reception in the Palace room. The day of everything was great we were less than impressed when dealing with our coordinator. In person she was fabulous, granting every wish you could have but to get a hold of her was ridiculous. My dad had to speak with the manager several times due to her lack of getting back to us. The maitre'd took good care of us though (maybe because my dad tipped him at the beginning & end of night). The day before the wedding I asked when the other brides would be arriving and I was told the first bride came at 4 and I came at 5 and was told she would be waiting for me when we arrived. We arrived exactly at 5 to see the other bridal party and their limo blocking the whole entrance, we had no one greet us and didn't know where to go, and the really late bride was on the patio forever taking pictures so we had to miss the cocktail hour. Not totally the Merion's problem but I would appreciate them keeping the late bride on a different schedule since we were there on time. Also I had to complain that the upstairs wedding was using our bathrooms and our guests saw them taking all our bathroom basket products out of the bathroom. We are still getting compliments on the amount of food. They really do an awesome job! My dad told them he loves chocolate so they gave him a huge plate full of chocolate donuts at his table which was funny. Great service.DJ's AvailableA+ We used Mike Petretti and he was awesome. Very sweet guy and very patient (he was surprised that we came down the stairs for the entrance). Not sure if he played everything on our must play list but we were very pleased with him. Very good prices too!Meyer PhotographyA- pending proofs. Definitely took lots of photos. Very sweet. My only big complaint was they never got around to take pictures of us w/ my dad's side of the family (he wasn't too happy as he foot the bill). Kenneth StillmanA I never had problems with communication like others. Cindy was very unobtrusive and the photo montage and BIG show were a big hit. I definitely recommend adding it to your package!! Was a little bummed that it took him almost a month to get our Big Show on his blog (guests kept asking to see it AGAIN!) and am still wondering when I'll get my photo montage pics back. Can't wait to see the final product since we love the BIG show...check it out! Masters of Fun PhotoboothA The photobooth was a lot of fun with our guests. The week of the wedding they offered a free upgrade on a larger booth. I bought my own scrapbook instead of adding it on to their package & they provided the glue & markers. It's a great momento to have the album! They went above and beyond to nag The Merion as The Merion would not get back to me (MOF likes to have approval for the photobooth from the venue)Mum's the WordA Like everyone else says Maria is wonderful! Very sweet and offers many follow up appointments to make sure everything is set. I was a little freaked out when I first saw our ballroom had yellow and purple flowers in the centerpieces when we only discussed pinks and blues but we got great reviews from guests on the flowers. Loved the BM fuschia gerber daises!Touch of ClassA- Purposely went with them because they offered an Escalade. The morning of the wedding they called me to tell me the Escalade's AC broke the night before & they'll try to fix it or I'll get a Navigator. I'm glad they called to inform me. Also we added an extra limo for my dad & I at the last minute and they were very accomodating. Both limos arrived on time.Proud to Plan-DOC & Paper ProductsA We used Erin for our invitations and table numbers and they turned out great. I definitely recommend a DOC. Erin & Jaci took care of issues so I didn't have to know about them. It was a big help at the end of the night that they packed up everything & to hand out tips. We were glad to have Erin pointing us around all night when we weren't sure what to do like after our dance or when we cut the cake. She always made sure we had a drink or food. All the meetings before hand and her timeline were very helpful. Definitely worth the money!!!!Hillmans Bus Service-ShuttleB Seemed like a good price to have unlimited trips between the hotel and reception. Only reason I give a B is they kepting calling the groom the morning of to get paid when they said to pay the day of the wedding. Apparently they arrived at the Merion from the hotel demanding to speak to the groom or his parents to get paid. Bridal GardenA- We got an Amsale wedding gown and BM dresses here. Not snobby at all. Only reason they didn't get an A was because 3/4 BM could slip their strapless dress off while zipped up. Clearly the designer has their measurements wrong but you think the dress shop would know if they run really, really big. Men's WarehouseF I guess since they are all over, people need to use them a lot but boy are they awful. We had nonstop issues with them (especially the Cherry Hill store) Complete idiots who overcharged most of our GM, blamed my DH for changing the order (he never did) and just gave me too many issues 2 days before the wedding. No complaints regarding Hello Gorgeous for hair & make up (I did airbrush make up), Calligraphy by Carmela, Fashion Stitch. We used The Westin in Mt. Laurel for our room block and Toscana for RD.
