First Hair and Makeup Trial PIB..not sure about this

Ok so I had my first hair and makeup trial today and while she was super nice..I was a little dissappointed. The makeup looks good in the pictures..but it just felt so heavy! I felt like I was wearing a mask..I am really careful about what I put on my face..I normally used Jane Iredal the liquid mineral makeup..She also put fake eyelashes on which felt really strange..I want my FI to recognise me! I washed the foundation of nearly the minute I got home..I am thinking of just buying my own makeup and doing it myself..what do you guys with experience think?? Also let me know what you think about the fake eyelashes..Thanks!! PIB

i think you look great! your make up looks very natural and it doesn't look like a mask or anything. as far as your eye lashes go, i couldn't really tell the difference between the two- my guess is because you're not wearing a ton of mascara and they don't look overly thick/long/fake. but if you dont feel comfortable with them on, i'd probably skip them. HTH :)

I think it looks great! But, you have to be comfortable too, After my trial, I thought I looked ridiculous, but after getting used to it by the end of the day, I really liked it...false eyelashes and all.

I did the trial makeup too and felt the same way so I was either going to do my own makeup or my friend suggested doing one for me....BUT for the best pictures and all day lasting makeup, it's best to go through the artist. 1.  you can ask your makeup artist to either give you the natural looking one or air-brush one. 2.  if you don't feel comfortable with the fake lashes, try the individual fake lashes, my makeup artist put the individual ones instead and it feels and looks much better.bridal makeup and eye lashes makes whole lot of difference when it comes to your wedding day....so just work with your makeup artist and come up with something you both will agree upon.

I thought you looked very pretty. It's definitely a good amount of make up but it didn't look like TOO much to me. As for the fake eyelashes - I couldn't tell a big difference either between the pics with and the pics without. So clearly you have naturally gorgeous eyelashes, and if the fake ones are not your thing, don't do them.I really sympathize overall though. I went through FOUR make up trials before I found someone who got CLOSE to what I wanted. I wear no make up most days, and when I do - it's mascara, tinted moisturizer, powder and lip gloss. So the first couple of trials I had, I thought I looked very glamorous, but not like me... And my FI was really not a fan (he doesn't like me in make up at all! Silly boy).I think you have to look for a balance between what looks good in pictures and what feels natural in person. It does exist but it takes a little compromise, especially for those of us not used to wearing a lot of make up.If you're not 100% happy with this trial, ask that MUA if you can do another abbreviated trial to rework the things you didn't like so much. What about using your mineral make up or a tinted moisturizer so it doesn't feel so heavy? And taking off the lashes?Or you could always do another trial with someone else just to be sure. I can recommend a great make up person (you'd have to find a separate hair person) in the South Bay who I finally decided to go with. She listened to what I didn't like about previous trials, went out of her way to find tinted moisturizer that worked for me, was flexible during the trial and made suggestions on how to get the look I wanted. I thought she was pretty affordable too considering all the other prices I was hearing about out there. Her name is Chez Murphy - you can find her through Project Wedding or I can post her info here if you are interested.Good luck!

I also could not tell a big difference between your eye with false eyelashes and your eye without so if you don't feel comfortable in them don't wear them.  I do makeup and I always want to do a trial run with the false eyelashes because half the time the girls decide to not wear them by the end of the day.  The rest of the eye makeup looks great!  I also like the picture with your freckles showing through, I think the mineral makeup would be a good idea and you can always touch it up through out the day if you need to.  Good luck!!

Thank you guys sooo much! I am feeling better about it..I think that if I do the eyelashes I might ask for the single ones instead of the whole row of them! And definetly different foundation..overall I am glad that I did it because now I know more of what I want..Also I think I will check and see if other makeup people are available for my day..Thanks so much
