hi everyone I'm new to the board. i'm getting marry May 13, 2010. I'm so excited however ever since my fiance and i announced our engagement we had @ least 10 people ask am i pregnant (because obvious that the only reason we are getting marry)....WTF... now a little background on us... we are young mid- 20's been together for 6 years, post college grads, no kids and in my opinion a  young but professional AA couple :)... but crazy part of its only from female family members. i know i shouldn't care what ppl say but don't understand why ppl cant just b happy for us!?  I'm thinking its jealousy but why... u chose to live ur life one way and we chose ours thanks for listening

    Congrats and welcome to the AAW board!  Ignore the drama.  There will be plenty of it and those don't who don't feel your day is as important as you believe it is.  Ignore it and focus on you and your FI. GL!

    Welcome to the boards and congratulations on your engagement!  You will find tons of help here.  Regarding the drama: someone will ALWAYS have something to say.  I always say that weddings and funerals bring out the best and worst in people.  All that matters is the love you have for each other and this incredible journey you two are about to embark upon.  Live YOUR life through your eyes and not through anyone else's.  Then you'll find that everyone else's negativity won't bother you and you will be truly happy, come what may! :)

    Congratulations and welcome!  Like pp's have already said press the "IGG" button on the drama.  If you and fi are ready to get married that's all that matters.  There are probably more people happy for you two than hating on you two =)

    Hello and welcome! You are grown and already ahead of the game (done with college, no kids, etc.) so plan all you want and people don't like it, take it as a compliment that your business is so interesting they have to be all up in it! lolAnother May bride! I'm getting married the weekend before you, 5/8/10 and I'm pregnant to boot! Don't do that . . . gets complicated.
