NWR: Veterinarian Recs

XP on the nest.We need to get our dog neutered.  We were considering taking him to the UCAN spay/neuter clinic downtown for around $70 but I'd be happy to take him to a fantastic vet that gives wonderful customer service.  Please recommend your vet and tell me why you love him/her.We live in Mariemont so anywhere within 15-20 miles from there is fine.

We just got our dog neutered. It was two weeks ago this wednesday and he's doing so well!  healing really well and it doesn't appear that he holds the fact that he'll die a virgin against us! Whew.  Anyway, I DEF recommend Animal Care Centers. I go to the Blue Ash location, but they are also in Forest Park and Fairfield. The Blue Ash location at 10607 Techwoods Circle is 513-769-7387.

I would trust my vet to do surgery on ME, that's how much I love his work and his character! :) We have taken our dogs to Dr. Smith for the last 15 years.  He practices at the VCA College Hill Animal Hospital (formerly known as the College Hill Pet Clinic).  The address is 957 North Bend Road Cincinnati, OH 45224 and the phone number is 513-681-9223.  There are several vets there, but Dr. Smith has been our primary care-giver to our dogs.  I have also seen Dr. McCarty on a few occasions where Dr. Smith has not been available, and she's just as great, too! I travel from Mt. Washington to College Hill because these vets are so great, and I know several other patients who come from as far as Bright, Indiana to come and see these doctors.  I cannot say enough about these people.

I love my vet because he is marrying me on October 3! HA! Mark works all the way in Mt. Orab so I really don't think you want to drive out there but I just had to respond to this one! I love vets!

Dr. Levitas at Animal Hospital on Mt. llokout is awesome (really, any of them are great). We've been taking our shelter dog to him ever since we got her (little more than a year). And all of FI's family pets have gone to him. (513) 871-8866 3175 Linwood Ave Cincinnati, OH 45208 http://ahomls.com/

Dr. Terry Henehan in Milford.  Several times now our dogs have had accidents on weekends and he has opened for us so we wouldn't have to go to an e-vet.  He does the entire appt, beginning to end, himself and really just uses the vet techs as assistants (filling Rx's, holding the animal in place,etc.).  If your pet has an appt and you have to work, you can drop them off in the morning and pick up in the evening.  He has great hours, even open Saturdays.  He is a one man show, so you know you will always be seeing him and he will know your pet.If he feels there is a non Rx treatment, he will recommend it. His Rx's and office visits are well priced and he offers discounts for multiple pets.  I love, love, love him.  My brother, parents, and in laws have all switched to him since we have began using him.

This is probably too late, but my dad (Dr. David Stricker) and sister (Dr. Julia Esposito) are both vets in Batavia: Clermont Animal Hospital(513) 732-1730clermontanimal.netTwitter: @ClermontAnimalThey have a 24-hour answering service for emergencies, and they are open till 6 p.m. weekdays and till noon on Saturdays.I worked with them for a while (before I had to start working in a job in my own field). I have witnessed first-hand how much they care for their patients. As a previous poster said, I would and DO trust them with my own medical needs. My dad has owned his own practice for more than 25 years, and is one of the only exotic vets in the area. People have even come from Tenn. and Fla. just to see him, and he gives advice to the Cincinnati Zoo vets from time to time. While many vets have to refer patients out for various procedures, my dad and sister can cover almost anything. They perform almost any surgery except for brain and heart surgeries. They can diagnose cancer. They cover dental health (including cleanings). They have X-ray capabilities. You name it.I could go on and on because both of them are talented veterinarians, and I would never trust any animal's life to anybody else with their care and recommendation.
  • I want to tell everyone how wonderful Dr. Henehan and his staff are at the Henehan Animal Hospital in Milford, Ohio. Dr. Terry Henehan has given all of our five dogs (since 1994) expert medical care, in a friendly and respectful manner. Dr. Henehan is a very intelligent and experienced doctor, who seeks the latest and best medical attention for every pet in his care. One the things I admire most about Dr. Henehan is his honesty. If he thinks more treatment is not going to help, or if another vet might be able to better treat your pet, he tells you so. He doesn't try to push services or products, and he is respectful of his clients budgets. When you choose Dr. Terry Henehan for your cherished pet, you will have found a good doctor and a good friend. Karen B
