Venue search!!

Arghh! Okay so looking for an affordable venue is very very difficult!! Can anyone provide some places for an affordable venue within 30 minutes or so of Columbus? Also, does anyone know if the Everal Barn allows alcohol? Thanks ladies!

Affordable, well to be honest the definition is getting more difficult! I am open to saving money a lot of different ways (dates etc). I am ideally hoping to get suggestions on places that allow you to bring your own beverages or caterer as that seems to be a quick way to save money. Thank you!

I am pretty sure Everal Barn is no alcohol... I'm not 100%, but I thought I'd read that in previous posts before. Knowing your budget for a venue would be really helpful, as well as number of guests! Station 67 and North Bank Park are the first ones that come to mind... but NBP's policy for renting works the same as Park of Roses. Bryn Du Mansion is in Granville and GORGEOUS! You get the place for the day and can bring in whatever vendors you want (at least when I looked into it).

Thanks ladies! I am hoping for around 150 people and under 10k for the entire day. Still trying to work out the financials with the FILs.....

I'm planning a wedding for 175 people for under $10,000 (and not be tacky, trashy, etc.).  I second Olde Gahanna Sanctuary. They have very lax rules on alcohol and catering. North Bank Park is also nice, but limited space (unless you do it partially outside, rent a tent, etc., which is possible, but ups the cost). They require you to go through a list of specific companies for bartending - it's a big list so probably possible to find an affordable one. Also look into the Clintonville Women's club.

Check out the Ohio State Bar Association, 1700 Lake Shore Drive.  Beautiful facility, outdoor courtyard.  They are not in the wedding biz, so they are bit of an unknown - they get their rental fee and don't ask for a percentage of catering/bar costs. You can bring in your own catering/drinks.  Also check out Station 67 with Two Caterers - really neat old train station.

I agree that the Olde Gahanna Sanctuary is very affordable. Also, my fiance's brother is getting married at North Bank, and I know that they are paying around $2,000 to rent the place, but that is for like 8 hours. They do have an approved catering list, which, they tried one of the first caterers on the list and ended up going with them because their meal was going to be just about $10/person. Also, that caterer offered bartenders, which were pretty affordable as well. They went to Trader Joe's to buy 3 buck chuck for the wine, and are just buying thier own beer as well. It has turned out to be extremely affordable for them, but they are only going to have around 90 guests.

The Olde Gahanna Sanctuary is (or at least was...) $950 to rent, and you get it for the entire day (8 am to midnight), and you can bring in your own food and alcohol - no preferred vendor list or anything (we actually found our caterer on the preferred vendor list for the Kelton House and highly recommend them - Culinary Classics Catering/Pastaria in the North Market - our food ended up around $10/person as well).

The Everal Barn does NOT allow alcohol :( It is such a beautiful place but I can't imagine getting through the day and having a reception with no alcohol. That's what killed it for me.

I really just wanna say... WAAHHHHH !! I want my wedding & reception to be at Everal Barn. I wish they'd change the alcohol rules. Even just beer and wine would be fine!
