Beach Ceremony Sites?

Do any of you ladies know of any beautiful beach ceremony sites in RI? It doesn't really matter where, just somewhere on a nice ocean beach that is not high in traffic with people? I am having a hard time finding beaches that allow wedding ceremonies. Has anyone here had a ceremony on the beach and then a reception elsewhere? Thanks in advance.

Hi,I can't really help with this question as I am getting married in a church but shoot me an email and I will forward the inside pictures of the Towers I took last March when I toured it. The pictures are of it empty and during the day. I can give you a few "pointers" on getting in touch with the woman in charge. When are you thinking of? I looked around the state for a magazine story I was writing and the only places I found for beach ceremonies were places you had to use that reception facility, such as the North Beach Clubhouse in Narragansett or Easton's Beach Rotunda in Newport.If you are getting married in summer, you probably will not find a "nice ocean beach that is not high in traffic with people." Beaches are crazy in the summer; that's why we're the Ocean State. :-) However, I suppose it would be much quieter at night; public beaches empty out a bit by 6-ish. I go down after work and there's plenty of room to spread out. You can have a ceremony at Beavertail State Park in Jamestown - it's overlooking the ocean but you'd be on land above it, not in the sand on a beach. Best of all, it's free! Page me if you want contact info. It's a gorgeous site.I also have a bunch of pics from inside the Towers when I looked at it a few months ago. It was pouring and dark inside, though, so PPs pics are probably better! But let me know if you want a peek. I also have pics of Kinney Bungalow, the Rotunda mentioned above and others.

KB_RI - Can I have the contact information for Beavertail State Park in Jamestown? I looked them up on Google and it looks beautiful. I am not sure how to get intouch with them about weddings however. Thanks so much.

Sorry if font is huge; easier to C&P: Beavertail State Park Beavertail Road, Jamestown Couples looking for a free, outdoor site with a near-panoramic view of Narragansett Bay might consider Beavertail State Park. Powerful waves pound the rocky outcrop and breezes off the water provide natural air-conditioning on even the sunniest summer days. Once owned by the U.S. Navy, the 170-acre park was created from federal surplus land and is the site of the third-oldest lighthouse in the country. Its stunning, unobstructed views of the bay attract visitors from all over to its shores. Its topography ranges from giant boulders to meadow to a preserve-like area with high, swaying grasses. Many wedding parties stop along the way between ceremony and reception elsewhere just to assemble on the rocks for photographs. Couples who wish to marry at Beavertail can book their date starting Jan. 1 for the coming year by calling Goddard Memorial State Park at 884-2010. Park employees will confirm the date and availability of four different sites at Beavertail where weddings are held. Only two weddings are allowed per day on weekends, and reservations fill up quickly. Portable toilets are located in the meadow area behind the museum, including one that is handicapped accessible. Remember, the champagne toasts will have to wait for the reception, as alcoholic beverages are not allowed at Rhode Island state parks. There is also Kings Park in Newport and Edgewood Yacht Club. They are not on the sandy beach but on the ocean. KB is right, it's hard to find a sandy beach here that isn;t overrun with people in the summer, since we only have a short window of warm weather. When is your wedding?

Yes, we go there all the time. It's actually where FI and I had our first kiss almost four years ago now. :-) It's really beautiful there. If you visit, you can sit in the grass or climb down the rocks (they're huge!) and find a nice spot to sit and picnic or read a book. I'm not sure exactly where the ceremony sites are, but he said there are four of them. The waves are crashing all around, but you're high up, so you get the feeling of being in the middle of the ocean but without the sandy beach. That bit in there about couples stopping to take pictures is from personal experience; I swear every time I'm there on a weekend, a limo pulls up and out spills a bridal party! There's a lighthouse there, too, as you've probably seen in photos, so it's a great place for pics after the ceremony, too.
