NWR: Legal Advice...

FI used to own his own business, and he sold it last year. The person who he sold it to signed a legal contrat to pay FI to total amount due by April 2009. He ran into a lot of financial troubles and couldn't pay, so FI tried to come up with a payment plan to help this guy out. The guy fell off the face of the earth for 3 months and wouldn't return FI's calls and emails, so we decided to take him to court for the money. My quesiton is this: does anyone have any advice for taking someone to small claims court in CO?TIA!

My mom had to take someone to small claims court once and got screwed over. Some family "friends" were going through some financial problems and we lent them some money since they had just had another child. Long story short, they never made any payments on the loan and we had some papers served to them. However, the loan was in the husbands name and the person who served the papers handed them to the wife. By the time we figured out what happened, they skipped town with out him ever being served. So my advice is to make sure the right person gets the papers. Good Luck!!
