Wedding venues in Washington County or Western WI

Hi,

I just got engaged last week.  Wondering if anyone knows of venues where you can have the ceremony and reception all in one?  I would love to be in Washington County or into WI.  200 guests or less, with a cheap buffet dinner :)

I'm getting married at Mississippi Dunes Golf Links in Cottage Grove. It's pretty affordable and the location is lovely, right on the Mississippi River. If you do end up going with them, please let me know by a private message or by paging me on the board, because I get freebies if I refer anyone before the wedding! So far everything is going according to plan. Good luck in your search!

The Washington County Historic Courthouse! I had my wedding there last October.

It's an absolutely gorgeous venue, and it's reallllllly affordable. They also give you essentially free reign over vendors, so you can bring in almost any caterer you'd like. Ceremonies are usually done on the front steps (overlooking the rest of Stillwater) and receptions are done upstairs in the ballroom, which was a working courtroom until like the 1970s.

I love love loved that venue.

I know the Water Street Inn in downtown Stillwater does weddings, not sure if they do buffets though.

Someone on here recently had theirs at Afton Alps.  Not sure on what the menu options were though...

I second the historic courthouse!! We will be having our wedding there on the 17th-- I will post pictures. We have saved a ton of money by having it there beacuse you get to pick your vendors. It is absolutely gorgeous and really reasonable. They have a museum exhibit that they open for $50 during cocktail hour. Our guests are really excited for it.

You may want to look into StoneRidge Golf Course. I just got married there last weekend, so let me know if you have any questions!

R&J Catering is in New Richmond, WI. Inexpensive and very sweet to work with.
We're holding our reception at St. Croix Nat'l Event Center in Somerset (15 min. from Stillwater and Hudson).  They can do all in one packages!  They even have special offers for people who book both.

Check out the Outing Point Lodge at Pine Point Park, breathtaking - you can get married outside (set up a tent) or inside (old fashion library).  They have a little English Pub in the basement.  It is one of my places of interest.  Located not far from that German restaurant off Manning.

What is the rental rate for the Washington Historic courthouse?
  • A friend of mine got married at the mystical rose gardens and reception to follow was held in an old green house that they transformed into a reception space. VERY pretty! It feels so private because of the location is pretty much in the middle of no where. But it was kind of hard to find, so I would give guests a heads up to leave themselves time for the drive!
  • We are renting the courthouse for our ceremony in October and it is 1000.00. I can't remember if it's the same price if we held our reception there too... ? But it's not big enough for us to hold both there. We wanted to find a place where we could get married indoors and preferrably not in a church. The courthouse was the perfect choice! It has so much charm and is naturally beautiful so that will cut my decorating costs! ;)
