Flowers and DOC

Hello, Was wondering if I can get some recommendations for flowers and DOC in the Akron/Canton area. I'm on a budget so I dont want anything outragous but as most brides I would like good quality. How much did DOC run people? How much, I know this is a huge range but I just want some sort of idea, did flowers run you? Thanks Jaime

    the price you pay for pretty much anything is based on what you get.  DOC - angela wish, best money i spent throughout the entire wedding.  she was incredible and our day would not have been as perfect as it was without her.  from our first meeting 8 months before the wedding to the over 300 pictures she sent me at 1 am in the morning the night of our wedding, she was GOD SENT :)  im not sure if she wants her rates plastered online, but if you email me at valmac21 at msn dot com, i'd be happy to share with you what i paid.flowers - we used helene piller of hosanna designs.  for $600 we got 6 bouquets, 12 boutonierres, 9 corsages, and 12 palm tree eiffel tower centerpeices.  roses and hydrangeas were the flowers we used.  she's pretty reasonable and did a good job at our wedding.  pics of flowers and CP's are in my married bio if you'd like to see.HTH...GL!

    Ditto PP re Helene and Hosanna Designs.  Her prices were the best I could find in the area, and she does great work.  Check out Heidi Baumgart of Heidzillas for DOC.  She made our wedding day so easy and stress free!  Even though I technically only hired her to DOC for us, she was more than willing to make vendor phone calls on my behalf (I live in California) prior to our wedding.  She's terrific!!

    roses for weddings is very reasonable and ety does really good work - shes in the Medina area :) we are using her - def check her out at rosesforweddings dot com!

    we used Heidzillas for DOC and were 100% satisfied. She was amazing! Full review in my married bio. As far as her rates, like pp said, it's going to be based on what you're looking for. Your best bet is to shoot her an email and give her an idea of what you're looking for (will you need her just day-of or day-of and rehearsal? do you need just set-up? just take-down? just an extra set of hands? all of the above?) Asking for a quote would be a quick and easy way for you to get an idea of how much it will cost. Keep in mind that a DOC is one of those things that you appreciate more and more as the day gets closer and even moreso after it's all said and done. There were so many things that Heidi did that a few months out, I hadn't even thought about. I thought I wouldn't need a DOC. But hiring Heidi was the best thing we could've done. She made the day go so much smoother

    Used Angela Wish! I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone. I know she does wonderful silk arrangements too if you wanted to go that route.. good luck! http://aweddingwish.googlepages.com/home

    I'm using Nikki Rogers for flowers. She totally worked with my budget (came in on the low side, actually!) so I was very happy with her quote. 'nikki@lifeaccessonline.com' And I'm spending approx $230 for 12 bouts, 6 bouquets, and 4 corsages.  But I'm just using carnations, baby breath and spider pomps.  Simple, but pretty.  She'll work with your budget though, whatever it is!

    ditto another heidzillas bride here, you will find that many brides on theknot are either using Angela or Heidi, I say page them both and see who you match the best with. I believe they are both strong in their own ways. Clearly my vote is for Heidi, I have never met her in person but she IS AMAZING and I could go on and on about how wonderful she is (and we are not even married yet). I would just be open and honest and let her know your budget I have never heard of Heidi turning some down. Page her and check out her website to make sure your date is still open. I don't have the website with me now but I am sure someone will chime in with the site.

    Definitely contact Heidi- she's my DOC and I couldn't be more excited to work with her!!  I met her recently to go over plans for our wedding and she's 100% on top of everything, super organized and a really nice person!!

    Heidzillas all they way! I recently met Heidi to go over my Nov. wedding details and discuss what she'll be taking care of for me and she was sooo nice and helpful. I left the meeting more pumped and excited for the big day than I had been up to that point.... that really says something :) She's very reasonable w/ prices too, but like everyone else has already said, you have o contact her and let her know what you need... good luck!

    Thanks everyone for your recommendations! I have contacted both....Angela is available and Heidi directly is not but has her assistant available...I will talk with both and see who I feel more comfortable with....Thanks again!
