Photobooth

Does anyone have done anything other than a photobooth that gave instant photos? I went to a wedding on my FH's side of the family and they had one. Now everyone wants us to have one. But I don't want to do the exact same thing, like it's already been done?!? Plus it was always busy and they only had like 200 guests. We may have up to 400! I'd like to hear other ideas for instant photos.

I think Sweet Memories does a guest book where the guest has their picture taken and then SM prints it off and the guest can write something in a scrapbook next to the picture. I also saw a guestbook where each guest/couple was given a large sheet of paper (like those big tablets they have for presentations) and fat markers.  The guests wrote something on the sign, held it up, and had their picture taken with the sign.  The guests looked like they were having fun with it.  I found it on google images while looking for photo guest books.

Your photographer might be able to set up a "photo booth station". Kinda like a photo booth, but they control it and have a backdrop and everything. It might run a bit smoother/faster.

I had a photobooth and it was a huge hit. Everyone loved it. It gave out two photos - one for the guest and one for me in my guestbook (provided by them). It was great because everyone would write next to their photos. I think for having such a large wedding it would be ideal because it is so hard to see everyone and then you will have the book to go through afterwards. I used Travelling Photobooth for 4 hours and was by far my favorite thing I had at my wedding.

Our photographer is doing like pp said, a studio-style photobooth. She will have a back drop up and a camera on a tripod and a bunch of goofy hats, glasses, and costumes for the guests to wear as well as a guest book so when they are done they get a pic and one goes into the guest book that they sign. I'm pretty sure they are going to print out like photobooth strips with 3-4 photos on them. This option is way cheaper than a photo booth and I think our guests will love it!

I'm doing an "interactive photo wall."  I saw this in a bridal magazine and thought it fit in well with my reception location. I'm using a sheet of thin plywood covered with wall paper and those sticker wall photo frames from IKEA with old family photos in it.  I got an old trunk from Good Will and am filling it with props like old hats, shawls, mustache on a stick, wigs, etc.

Aw, thanks. I just hope mine turns out as well as that one in the picture.  I might be willing to sell the whole set up after my October 3rd wedding if anyone is interested in it.  It will probably have a cream colored wall paper with two "empty" frames for people to stand behind.  I even have extra IKEA stickers, so you could change those out for photos of your own family.

Of course, I understand you'll want to see pictures first.  Maybe this weekend I'll get my butt in gear and get it made.  I have everything for it, I just haven't had the time.

Awesome ideas girls. I was doing some research last night and found this software. All you need is a computer, camera and printer. The software does the rest. Has anyone heard or used this software?BODY { FONT-FAMILY:Tahoma; FONT-SIZE:10pt } P { FONT-FAMILY:Tahoma; FONT-SIZE:10pt } DIV { FONT-FAMILY:Tahoma; FONT-SIZE:10pt } TD { FONT-FAMILY:Tahoma; FONT-SIZE:10pt } http://www.seemonkey.net/
