I need a virtual hug...or maybe a gallon of whiskey!

This afternoon SUKS.First I get into it with my mom for the first-ever WR battle over the "need for" programs, and the guest list. And now, feeding the cat and getting the mail while my friends are on vacation has also turned into cleaning the litter box and vacuuming the litter remnants.  Blecch.  Had I known I'd be playing "maid" I'd have told her I wasn't going to be home.  I hate litter boxes, that's why I prefer a dog for a pet!!!

Sorry your afternoon sucks. :( As a side note, as a cat owner, if you didn't clean the litterbox while she was gone, it would be NASTY by the time she got back.  My guess is the cats would start doing their "business" on the floor because the litterbox was so full/gross.  I know you hate it, but I'm sure she really appreciates you doing that for her...I know I would!!

LOL Mink!! How long are your friends on vaca Cindy? I don't know if I'd vaccum their litter remnants (sweep probably but I would be too lazy to bust out the vaccum LOL) but cleaning the box for them is great, hope they appreciate it. I prefer cats to dogs because I could always leave for a couple nights if I wanted to and kitty would be fine with a giant bowl of food and water and a fresh litter box. Going out of town when you have a dog is just a pain trying to find someone to come and feef her, let her out and all that. Bleh. We can't even plan a trip to Cedar Point without thinking of the darn dog. But, I am allergic to cats :( They are so much easier for independent people though.

Did your program battle have to do with your mom thinking you "need" them and you thinking not? My friend had this battle.... when I arrived to the wedding and was handed a program, I realized her mom won.
