Anyone staying in Maine for your honeymoon?

Is anyone staying in Maine for there honeymoon? My fiance and I don't have enough money to travel right now. However its been such a busy summer that we both want to take the week after the wedding off to relax at home. Any ideas for some fun thnigs to do around Maine while on our "stay at home honeymoon"? We live north of Waterville. We were thinking a day trip to Bar Harbor, maybe go out to the white mountains one day. anyone have any other ideas?

My FI and I are staying in an adorable little camp on Great Pond in Belgrade for 2 nights after the wedding. I think your ideas of a Bar Harbor day trip and the White Mountains are great. I might also recommend Camden/Rockport area.

I think staying in Maine is a great idea!  We have so much to do and see here!I would hit up some of the following:  Bar Harbor, Camden, Boothbay Harbor, Portland Headlight etc.  There is so much to see and do!

We went to Camden/Rockland.   I also highly reccommend Bar Harbor, my hometown. :) Especially in the fall with the leaves changing...beautiful!!!

We're not staying in Maine, but we're only going a few hours away, to the White Mountains of NH. I've vacationed in NH since I was a kid, and he's never been (he's from KY). I'm excited!

We are staying in Maine for our HM. We rented a house in Bar Harbor a week after our wedding. We are excited to not have to go through air travel to get there!

Thanks for the ideas everyone. kkchisholm THanks, I realize Bar Harbor and White Mountains are about 5 hours apart. Like I said, we live near WAterville, so we would stay at home and make day trips to each...not on the same day most likely :)

We're not staying in Maine but another good day trip from the Waterville area is Mooshead Lake. We vacation there every year (it's actually where we got engaged) and it is absolutely beautiful! If you like hiking at all it is definately a great trip. We climbed Mt. Kineo about a month ago, the views were breathtaking and you can climb up and back down in about 2 hours. Good luck with your search!
