Cake Help

My fiance and I are trying to find miniature National Guard Flags to put on our wedding cake. Our cake is an exact replica of our sandcastle centerpieces and we would like to have mini flags sticking out of the spires. Attached is a picture of what we are looking for, but we need them small enough for a 2' ft wedding cake. If anyone knows of any websites or places to find them, please let me know. Thanks!

Re: Cake Help

  • I think you may be able to upload that design to Vista Print and print from there. Or you could just print them yourself, and put them on lollipop sticks?

  • Thank you! I never really thought about that. It may actually be a cheaper route too.
  • For our wedding we did drink stirrers, and made them ourselves, similar to what Binx mentioned.  We bought printable address labels, and designed the flags how we wanted them with the program.  Then we printed them out and used popsicle sticks.  We just folded the label around the stick and sealed them together at the ends so they looked like little flags.

You could easily put that image on the labels and wrap them.  You could probably find a thinner wood than popsicle sticks if you wanted it to look more like a flag pole.  Michael's and JoAnn Fabrics always have wood dowels for super cheap so you could find the right thickness you want and cut them.

For another touch you could make extra and make the drink stirrers with them.  We bought the posicle sticks at Hobby Lobby for like $5 a bag, and then package of labels was like $15, so we had something cute and fun for about $25.
