It comes with good and bad news, so I will start with the "bad" first.I failed the 1 hour glucose test (where you drink the nasty sugary drink), so I am possible borderline for gestational diabetes. So now I have to do a fasting 3 hour test, so nothing before or during the 3 hour test which will be torture since I have been a camel to water recently. Luckily they are ok with me bringing in my laptop to watch a movie or something in a back corner while waiting.Good news: Doc was able to pick up the heartbeat. 168 bpm, and she said that is good. I haven't looked it up yet, but I trust that things are on track. Was really happy she confirmed she heard 1 heartbeat. LOL. I know it is weird, but I really needed that confirmation. My mom is sticking to the old wives tale that this MUST mean it is a girl. Ugh huh.... LOLI go in a few weeks for part 2 of the down syndrome testing, which there is an ultrasound for them to measure the length of baby's head/neck and compare to blood tests taken during the 9th week to determine your risks. Then in October around 18-20 weeks I will find out the gender. Then we can FINALLY start the shopping/planning for the 2nd bedroom - just in time for the busy holiday season.
