how much and who for ceremony music?!

I am looking for a trio including trumpet, violin, and vocalist. I was quoted $500 just for a duo! Is this the normal amount and I just didn't know or overpriced? Who did you go with. Oh and it's a church wedding. thanks for the help guys!

    i think thats a great price! I have a trumpet player, singer and organist (catholic church wedding) and i paid $750. They play at the church every weekend and the church recommended them so we went with them but maybe I should have shoped around! ha! Good Luck!

    Oh i just noticed that the $500 quote was for a duo, how much for the trio? If its around my price, then maybe its the norm?

    we aree using the church musicians, $850 for an 8 piece band/singers

    650 for a string trio. They will play ceremony and cocktail hour.

    We paid 750 for jazz quartet for 2 hours (2 hour minimum)

    $575 for a trio of whatever three instruments we want. it was the cheapest quote I got and I must've talked to or emailed 8 different places/people.

    Oh, and we're going with musiconsultants

    i just emailed musiconsultants! thank you for the input ladies! who did everyone else go with? i really like the idea of an organist, vocalist, and trumpet :)

    I went with Dr. Jazz (I am pretty sure it's cheaper than musiconsultant for the trio.  I remember the trio being 450).

    The Storyville Jazz Band is doing my wedding-
    The "full" band is 6 people for second line type stuff & a little bit of other music if you wanted.

    If you want 1 or 2 people to play at the church service (Trumpet & another brass instrument), they can do 2 for 150.00.
    (processional/recessional- ex. panis angelicus, trumpet tune, trumpet voluntary, wedding march, jesu joy of mans desire, etc)

    Pan String is great.  The Quartet was $800 but I think it is $200 per musician.  Fabulous musicians!
