Back from our mini-vacation

We are back from Oregon. It felt so good to get away. We truly felt like it was longer than it actually was. Time just slowed down. We went on long bike rides everyday. On Sunday, we took a lazy 4-hour canoe trip down the river. On Monday, we went white water rafting (which made us really want to take the 2 week Grand Canyon trip.) There were lots of memories made and we cannot wait to make the trip a family tradition. Before we left, I had my make-up trial (which I loved.) Plus we took our engagement pictures Friday night. I cannot wait to see them. On a yucky note, I hate my dress. Sigh. I am hoping once it gets altered, I will love it again. But seeing as how I didn't even want to take pictures in it, I don't think much will change. :( Anyone know of any sample sales happening Labor Day weekend?

Don't worry once you spend time in your dress and it fits and everything you'll fall back in love with it. =)

And yet you don't happen to know when any places are having sample sales, jackel. I am disappointed. Haha. Do you have any dresses left over? What size are you? ;) (only somewhat joking) It just looks totally different than what I tried on. :/ I don't understand. Blah. I am trying to contest and return it. We'll see. I still love the dress I tried on back in May (PIB.) I am sample size, so I'm hoping that the store has that exact one. If all else fails, I will just wear my after party reception dress. I do still love that one.

I love, love your latest two. :) I can see why it would be hard to choose.I posted over on the San Diego board to see if anyone knows about current sample sales down here. I would love to get in before the weekend rush, but it just isn't going to happen. I am going to try to go to a couple down here on Monday. Then, we will be in Sac and SF Labor Day weekend. It can be done in 7 weeks, right?

The last dress I bought from Bay Area Bridal's sample sale fit me PERFECTLY! I only needed a bustle and hem, which just about any seamstress can do in a short time frame.

Probably the second one (strapless). I loved the first dress I just feel like it's more for someone more flat chested and small on top (arms/shoulders)... with bigger hips.

They are both gorgeous. However, you glow in the 2nd one. Crisis averted: Found my dream dress as a sample. Woot!

Haha. Well, when I went dress shopping the one in my bio was out of our price range. I went dress shopping some more, but I still lusted after that one dress. I searched high and low for a deal. It just wasn't happening. I found a reputable person to make a knock-off. She had amazing reviews, etc. I knew I was taking a risk. Well, the dress I got was NOT at all like the one I asked for. All of the little details were off. (I notice everything about clothes. Even as a kid, I could not wear anything that had detailing on the front that did not go all the way around.) The back wasn't low enough, the front was straight across, the buttons were more spaced out. All of those things I could deal with. However, I could not deal with the way she did the structure of the bodice. You could just tell. Enter my hatred for the dress. (In the middle of disputing it all now, fun times)Today, I decided that I was going to call around to all of the local bridal shops that would have my original dream dress and see IF they had that sample for sale. None of them did. I expanded my search. I found a bridal shop that was willing to take pictures of the dress, tags, everything and do business with me over the phone. My dress should be arriving on Monday. I got an AMAZING deal on it. I figure IF it still sucks, then I still have 6 weeks and 5 days to find a dress. LOL. A couple of pics they sent me (don't think you care to see all 25 of them)

Thanks! That means a lot coming from the Dress Queen. ;) I didn't realize how much I hated the knock-off dress until I started crying about it when I was talking to my dad. Poor guy didn't know what to do... and I felt like an idiot for crying over a dress. I will post pics when it actually gets here. I was ridiculously giddy last night. Come on Monday!
