No April wedding afterall...

I'M SO UPSET! =(My fi and I were planning an April 2010 wedding. I have lost my job, so we are having to plan an emergency move... instead of a wedding (to Henderson NV of all places, at least now I can help knotties scout!). My company is contesting the unemployment... but they are not filling my position. I hate corporate America sometimes! Who cares what you do or who you do it TO, just make sure we have more profits this year than last! Anywho, we'll be in Vegas September 3rd (great bday present)... so maybe I can help some of you scout out locations while I'm out and about searching frantically for a job! I'm so heartbroken... and furious.

    What exactly is wrong with Henderson, NV.??  I live in henderson.  I love where I live. I am sorry about the wedding! Hopefully you will be able to find a job quickly! Good Luck!

    I'm so sorry to hear that. I was laid on last Nov. and know the feeling! I promise things will get better!Hey my birthday is the 2nd Sept.! Happy almost birthday!

    Pamila, I think she was referring to the irony of moving there instead of planning her Vegas wedding. I don't think she was being negative about your hometownAnd Jen, I'm so so sorry! I hope it all works out and you get to have your dream wedding soon. Keep us updated

    Look at it as more time to plan the wedding :)  Everything will work out in the end. I believe that everything happens for a reason. Good luck with everything and let us know if we can help in anyway :)

    Oh no I didn't mean anything bad about Henderson at all! I'm very excited to be moving close to Vegas, i've only been there a couple times but I loved it. It's also my FI's hometown, he grew up there. It just seemed ironic that i've been planning all these things in Vegas, and now i'm moving there. I hear the job market is better than California... things closing left and right over here. :/ The Napa Valley job market is going downhill, fast. It will give us more time to plan... I was only 3 days away from sending our deposit to hold Maggiano's when I got the news.. at least I hadn't already booked all the venues. It was just a let down to be days away from finalizing everything, and then to suddenly change all of our plans.

    Hopefully you will find a job quickly! You will find a lot more out here then you are ther but times are tough here to.  I wish the best for you I really do and it was hard for me to move here at first as well and that is when the marked was good here when i did move. Just breath and it will all be ok. Heck you could get on your feet quick and resume all of your plans! You never know what adventures are down the road. Keep us posted!!

    I am sorry! We have had 2 wage cuts this year...of all years, the year we are planning a wedding! And it really frustrates me because it seems to be more about profits than that the ocmpany really NEEDS to do it...they just want to look better for shareholders, I think.Just look at it as having more time to plan and do what you want. When you get a job, just try to save a little each month, knowing it is on the horizon. Before you know it, it will be a blessing in disguise.

    Awww, sorry to hear about your situation. Hope things work out quickly for you after the move. Think of this as a blessing in disguise. You can still have your wedding in Vegas then everyone can head to your place in Henderson (not sure how far) for a casual get together.....just a thought. Best wishes & good luck!
