Cakes!

Hi ladies!  I need some advice on bakeries.  We did a tasting at Sheila's and it was SOO good, but the quote I got was a lot on the high side.  We are probably just going to go with Publix, but before I did that, I wanted to see if you ladies found any local Jax bakeries that came close to the publix price, but did good custom work.  I love publix cakes, but we want something that's a little more custom than I think Publix can do.  Thanks so much!

    Signature cakes by Paul is doing our cake. It's $450 for 100 servings. I don't even know what Publix charges. That's not fondant or gumpaste flowers...but it's 2 different flavors (customized anyway you could possibly imagine) and he's doing some custom scroll type stuff for us. The design isn't plain. HTH!

    I am using Classic Cakes they are amazing and can work with your budget. I would recommend talking with them.

    We are using Metro Custom Cakes and they gave us a great price. $428 for 125 servings, 4 tiers. That includes delivery, stand, everything.  Publix quoted more than that for what we wanted.  HTH

    We are also using Classic Cakes, and my experiance with them has been fabulous so far. The quote we got from Publix was about $50 less expensive than Classic Cakes, but we decided to spend the extra money and go with people who specialize in event cakes. I think it's going to be money well spent.

    Ladies, I can't thank you enough!  Classic Cakes told me they were booked for my date :(  I left a message at Metro to see if they were willing to do a consult over the phone since I live in Tally.  This cake thing is turning out to be harder than I thought!  Here we are six weeks from the wedding and no cake yet!!  Eeek!
