Sacramento Make up & Hair?

The hotel I'm getting married at has there own Spa and a make up artist to come to your room. But I'm not sure I want to use them. And they don't do hair so it's like whats the point.  So I'm seeing if any of you who recently have been in a wedding or have found a good person can recommend someone in the Sacramento area for hair and make up.Thanks!

My friend who is doing my makeup has done weddings in Sac (about 2 hrs south of us).  I know she's getting out of the business but I'll ask her if she's interested.  She was a Mac girl for a while and used to do my makeup all the time.  She's awesome.  When is your wedding?

My wedding date 10/10/10.  I actually have an appt with Mac Cosmetics at the Roseville Galleria Store in two weeks. My cousin is getting married and I thought it would a good chance to try them out.  Thanks!

How much do you want to spend?  She normally charges $110 I think.  I think the Mac counter is fine as long as you tell them not to do too much.  i had a friend that looked like a drag queen once but then the other ones that have used the mac counter rocked.  It just depends.

Yes, I've had the drag queen experience. The hotel charges $155.  It would be nice to stay in the lower $100 range. But I understand if you want to look good, you have to pay.I was going to go with another "friend of a friend" and that fell through, she decided to go to dentistry school.  And if she's getting out of the "business", I'm not sure that's the path I want to head down again.  Especially with my wedding over a year away. Things can change.  But if she has a website (ie. myspace or facebook) with some of her jobs, I'll would love to check her stuff out. Thanks for help!

Kari Greene at Lush in downtown is great for hair, and I know they have make up artists there as well, although I didn't use them.

I used Nina Barbosa and love her! I think she charges $185 for hair and make-up the day of. She does use MAC as well. She is well worth the money! e-mail is the best but it may take her a while. She does travel a lot for weddings. makeupartistry@ninabarbosa.com
