Submerged Flower Centerpieces

Hello All!I was wandering if anyone has done/will be doing submerged flower centerpieces? I have been looking at ideas and this is by far my favorite.  I have been thinking about the logistics of it though and was wandering if I could pull it off or not? I will not have a day of coordinator or anyone really other than family/bridal party to help with setup and I am getting married in the morning so not sure how it would work.  If you have done them, did you do them yourselves? Did you use real or synthetic flowers? How far in advance did you make them? If you used a florist, how much did they charge you? If anyone has been to a wedding that used them, did they last throughout the night?  Sorry for all the questions but would love any answers you could give me! TIA!

PIB of ours in bio under Flowers. Our florist made them for us, and they lasted until brunch the next day.

I will be doing submerged orchids for centerpieces with floating candles on top. My florist (madison floral) will be doing them for us. They were partially covered by the package at my hotel. so I'm not really sure how much they would be total. Sorry I can't be more help! Good luck! erin

I had wanted submerged orchids, but they ended up being too expesive. So we did submerged hydrangea. I did have a florist do them, but I don't think they are too difficult to do. I know with the orchids, they have to be wired down, at least that's what my florst told me. I think I have a few pics in my bio. Mine were $25/centerpiece, which also included small votives and floating candles.

I did submerged orchids for our wedding. I did them myself, and my florist just gave me the flowers at cost. I had the tall cylinder vases from my work. We basically got one stem of orchids for each vase. Then we made sure to leave enough of the stem at the bottom to stick into the rocks on the bottom. That way, we didn't have to worry about wiring them down. The stem into the rocks was enough. Plus, we put a floating candle at the top, which helped the flowers stay down. Sometimes we had to rearrange the rocks to cover the stem, but it was pretty easy. We made them Thursday afternoon for our Saturday wedding, and everything looked great. We had a morning wedding as well. We just filled the vases as much as we could and transported them to the hall. they offered to fill them the rest of the way and light the candles. Let me know if you want a picture.

Hi !!! I wanna do the submerged orchid centerpiece in our upcoming wedding. But I'm not sure how to let the orchid stay in the bottom. Can you show me more detail and send me some pictures.

      Thanks,
