Invitations..still not mailed

So..still waiting for my directions cards from Vistaprint.  No clue when I'll get them because the tracking status hasn't changed in 4 days.  They're "in transit" somewhere. Meanwhile I'm freaking out because my rsvp date is Sept 18th so really how much longer can I wait to mail these??  I'm already at the 6 week mark til the actual wedding.  This is not good.

You should get them shortly. I got all my Vistaprint orders within about a week from when I ordered them, and I always got the slow shipping. Hope they show up soon!

If this is in any way calming to you, I have found their tracking status to be a poor indicator of where the orders actually are.  I  have ordered a bunch of things from them and had it say in transit up to a couple days after I had received the order!  I hope they get there soon :(

I ordered them on Aug. 7th and honestly I was thinking I'd have had them before now mostly because I've read other knotties getting their stuff way before they expected. If it's not soon then I don't know what I'm going to do.

I'm sorry they are making you stress out about this! I'm sure they'll be here soon! I'll cross my fingers for you!

If you ordered them on August 7th, I would think they would arrive by today. If not, can you call them to get an ETA? Are the directions for the ceremony or the reception? Because if worst comes to worst and they are "lost" in transit you can mail out the invites without them and pass out the directions to the reception at the ceremony. I'm sorry... I totally feel for you. Too. Much. Stress.

Which shipping method did you choose?

I think that as long as you have them mailed by September 1 you shoudl be ok...i learned that there is a fine line between giving people too short of a deadline and too long of a deadline...i have my guests a whole month and it was way too long.

I called the post office and Fed Ex, neither of which really could tell me anything. I chose the 'slow' shipping.  I guess it's my own fault.

I agree with pp - if you have them out by Sept 1st, you should be good. Hopefully they'll arrive in the next couple of days and you can mail the invites next week!

A short rsvp timeframe is no biggie anyway...cause people stop sending them back after a few weeks anyway!! :)

Thanks girls!  I was thinking I should have mailed them like a week or two ago...even my event coordinator was like, WHAT?? you haven't mailed them yet?? when I saw her the weekend before last. I just have to stop freaking out about it.  I'm driving everyone around me crazy :)

Call VP directly and inquire about the status.  Technically, it could still take up to another week.  If you don't have them by this weekend, I would just send the invites out without the cards.  They're nice, but not really necessary.
Holy Crap. We survived the first year!

Honestly, directions cards are a nice-to-have, not a necessity.  Unless your location is very obscure, the guests can use Google/Mapquest/the phone to figure out how to get there.  At only 6 weeks out I'd say getting the invitations into the mail trumps these cards.  Cut your losses and send 'em.

What FIA said. ;) Do you have a wedding website?  If so, you can also just put your directions there.
