Day of Timeline

I am so lost on how to set up the day of timeline. I don't know how much time to allow for the bridesmaids and myself to get ready. We can get into the hotel room @ 11 am or earlier. How long does it usually to do hair and makeup? This is what I have so far for the timeline. Notice the lack of pre ceremony timing... Help!

Re: Day of Timeline

  • I can send you mine when I get home.  We are having lunch and need to be ready by noon, so I just planned on getting the room the night before. That way I can not worry about it. Yes, its an extra cost, but I am turning it into a place to stay for my BMs that are coming out of town. A relaxing night!

I also didn't plan out when my music was going to happen. I just figured the DJ will a) figure it out or b) talk to me that night.
  • Thank you so much! That would help. The bridesmaids and I are staying at my MOH's house the night before the wedding. I think my FI and his groomsmen will be staying at the BM's house.

Our ceremony is at 2 pm also. Here's what our day of coordinator has for the pre-ceremony timeline so far:

9:00 a.m.-Bridesmaids meet Bride at hotel to start hair and makeup.
12:00 p.m.-Photographer arrives at Bride's room for getting ready shots.
12:30 p.m.-Personal flowers delivered to hotel.
12:45 p.m.-Photographer goes to Groom's room for getting ready shots.
1:00 p.m.-Groom/Groomsmen leave hotel and head to church.
    1:15 p.m.-Groom/Groomsmen arrive at church.
1:15 p.m.-Bride/Bridesmaids leave hotel and head to church.
1:30 p.m.-Guests start arriving at church.
    1:30 p.m.-Bride/Bridesmaids arrive at church.
    2:00 p.m.-Ceremony Begins.
  • Well what i have heard of making a time line, is you should work backwards. start at the ceremony time and work from there. I asked my salon and makeup artist how long I needed for each appointment, and added a good extra 10 minutes to the normal travel times because of snow. Make sure to build in lunch and extra time to get ready, just in case you get behind. At my cousin's wedding, we barely had enough time to get ready!
  • I haven't planned out my timeline in detail. I guess I better get on this.

  • Make sure you leave PLENTY of time for hair and make-up.  It was just me and my daughter.  So we started at noon, and the ceremony was at 3.  I had to rush to finish my daughter's makeup and be able to get my dress on (takes longer than you think).  It's better to have too much time, than not enough and have to rush and not be happy with how it comes out.

I've been saying that even if I have to walk to the church through the snow, there will be a wedding.  Might not be any guests, but there will be a wedding.
  • I won't have to worry about snow here in warm Florida!!! It might get in the way of the guests we have flying and driving down from Pennsylvania though :(

Aside from a random freak storm, there's nothing really to worry about here.  It doesn't really snow here.  Even when it does, it melts within a few hours normally.  Doesn't stop the masses from panicing and forgetting how to drive though.

LOL!! :) I'm guessing this is one of those southern things! I just don't get it. School gets cancelled and everything for a few flurries lol! You'd think it was the blizzard of all blizzards coming! lol<img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" />
  • I'm stressing about this day of timeline too. I had to push dinner back a half hour in order to accomdate travel allowance and whatever. I"m from Michigan. I"m just accepting the face right now that there will be a freak snow storm!

I'm originally from Ohio and they don't close for feet of snow, let alone inches.

The sad thing is the people here are stupid enough when it's dry outside.  Get more stupid when it rains.  God help you when it does anything else.
  • VICTORY! I finished it!
Added fifteen minutes travel allowances for the roads and traffic and everything. phew. yeah it'll be extra time if there's no issues but i'd rather be safe than sorry with michigan weather
