Florist budget

Awhile ago we discussed our total budget and how much larger our are as opposed to others elsewhere. So I wanted to know how much is everyone budgeting on LI for their wedding flowers?

We are looking at florists this week.  We were expecting to pay about $3K.  The first florist gave us a great price and we have yet to negotiate anything.  We are meeting with someone else on Friday. We are keeping everything simple.  I didn't want the tables or anything to seem too busy.  Plus the tables are round not long so we can get away with a smaller centerpiece. The cost of our package came to $1830.00 plus tax that includes:Bride, 3BM, Grrom, 3GM, 2Fathers, 2Mothers, 1Grandmother and 16 centerpieces.I will let you know how things go with our second florist on Friday.

We were expecting to pay about $7K for flowers....however, we found this amazing florist (who goes by word-of-mouth only) and we are getting our flowers for about $2500 and we are having a ton of flowers!!! 240 guests...21 tables....lots of flowers!

I don't want my tables looking busy either and my place is dressed up enough. Where did you go for that 1830 package?? I'm looking for a florist too....thanks!

This is what I'm working on now. I'd love to hear who you ladies are using! I could use a great deal like those! LOL. I'm expecting to spend about $3k on flowers as well- including 16 centerpieces, 6 bouquets, 3 corsages, no bouts- we're having the mens use pocket squares. FI doesn't want a flower on him. LOL.

Ok, I'm not sure if I want to laugh or cry after reading these posts. Granted, I had decided a long time ago that I didn't want to go over the top with flowers because they really aren't my thing... but I am only paying $1100 for my flowers! My wedding will be very small, we are only inviting 100 and expecting between 75 and 85, so that price only includes 9 centerpieces. But we are also getting my bouqet, which is a little on the big side, 5 BM bouqets, 13 boutteniers (FI, F, FFIL, 6 GM, and our 4 boys) plus coursages for FI mom and Grandma. Our budget is very small, and as you know, money doesn't go very far on LI - so I commited more money to other things like photo/video and DJ. I am using my local florist, which my family has been using for years, so I know they do beautiful work. They did my sisters wedding as well and those flowers were gorgeous.

I am having over 200 people as well and I am spending 3k... I am going with a local florist as oppossed to a wedding florist that usually will overcharge because all they specialize in is weddings. Defintiely go with your local florist and see what they can do for you...even asking them to do a sample of what you're looking for so you know what they are capable of...good luck!

Hi Scooby....your budget sounds like mine with flowers. As you can see, I posted earlier asking where some people went for them. I'm spending more on other things too. Can I ask who you're using b/c that sounds great! Thanks!!!!

I'm also spending about 2000.  I'm only having 80-100 people and my bridal party is 4 girls, 4 guys and 2 kids.  Plus 2 mothers, a grandmother, 2 fathers and the groom. I am using one of the preferred vendors from the hall.  It's important to me that the vendors are familiar and have a good rapport with the catering hall so it's less stressful for me since I am not hiring a planner.

Hi All, just wanted to let you know that I met with another florist....Flowers By Brian and I loved their work.  For 16 low centerpieces, the entire wedding party including parents and grandparents, floweres for the cake, cocktail hour, and bathroom flowers came to 2,500.

Flowers by Brian has been around for a long time. Great prices you're quoting! I think Burton's is around the same from what I'm reading but I'm not sure what it includes. Thanks for sharing!!!

My florist & I came up with $2000...for entire wedding (app. 125 ppl).  I'm lucky, she's based in NYC but has a summer house in Montauk where I'm getting married so she said she wouldn't charge a fee--big PLUS!  For $2K we get: my bouquet, 6 BM bouquet, 5 GM Bouts, 2 MoB & MoG corsages, 12 low centerpeices, welcome table flowers, cake flowers & extra bouquet for the throw.  I'm satisfied!
