need more knottie help! inexpensive catering!

hi girls!

i have been all over the place trying to pick a location. first we thought country club, then we were going with DW, now we're 99% sure we're going with a vineyard wedding in PA. finding a vineyard won't be hard once we find out who will host a wedding, but can anyone recommend inexpensive catering?!?! we're looking at a lunch reception. lehigh valley OR philadelphia area, either is good since we are looking at vineyards in both areas!

  • Hi - we are getting married at a Sand Castle winery in Bucks County in August and Jamie, The event coordinator gave us a list of caterers that they recommend and went fruit ranged from $ to $$$$. They are an open catering venue so you can bring in anyone. What is your price per person budget?
  • i'm looking at $ the lowest possible price! if at all possible we want the food to be about 20$ per person.

@alimomof2 - how much is sand castle requiring for a deposit? they're on our list of winerys to check out! we plan on doing a weekend of wine tasting as we check out all the different winerys we could host the wedding at :)
  • It's half of your estimated guest total and if you are having your reception inside, the price per person is $25/pp (includes wine) so it would be $12.50/per person for a deposit.  I think if you want to use the tent, the price is $45/pp.  We are using the inside since we are getting married in August and its usually pretty warm/hot and I don't want my grandparents to melt in the heat, lol.

Some of the caterers that are on their list should be able to get you to that price point foodwise and Sand Castle's price includes unlimited wine and you can bring your own beer and hard stuff in.  We have been buying stuff as it goes on sale or whenever we have a little extra so it hasn't been painful, lol.  Our caterer is supplying all the mixers and a bartender.
  • alimomof2, thank you for the help! sand castle is already on our list of places to check out:)
