Help: I need advice about fit and flare gowns

I have always been afraid of tight fit and flare gowns but I love the way they look on me.  My fear is that the dress will limit my movement...will I be able to sit easily, is this style comfortable or too restricting, and can I dance freely?  Has anyone worn a gown like this?  Known someone who has?  I don't want to miss out on the potential dress of my dreams because of fears that might not even be true.  Any advice would be beyond appreciated!  Thank you!!

  • Try one on and dance in it and see how it feels :)

  • There is totally restricted movement when it comes to how wide you can spread your legs, so you will have to limit your dance moves accordingly. Otherwise comfortable, walking and sitting are no problem, as long as you don't get it too small.
  • My dress is a fit and flare and I'm in love with it.  The dress itself doesn't restrict my movement but the slip underneath does slightly.  With that said, I can walk, sit, go up and down stairs and dress with no issues.  The only thing that I can't do is drop down to the floor which isn't really a concern for me since I can do any other dance moves.  I would say that different dresses and slips probably have different restrictions so just make sure you give them a good test run in the dress shop.
