Hey everyone....We're looking at Photographers and DJ's in the Akron area....does anyone know any good ones?  I'm so scared to book anything in case they suck.  If anyone knows someone that is good...please let me know.THANKS!

    we booked RAD photographer and the DJ crew. our e-pics from RAD are in my bio, and we absolutely LOVE them. awesome husband and wife team who are so incredibly nice! the dj crew always gets rave reviews on here, and if you mention me, jacqui from the knot to them, it will save you $50! :) good luck!

    We booked Ken Love Photography. We haven't had our engagement session yet, but his work is amazing! He has been great to work with so far and has been very accomodating, and you can't beat his rates. Talking with him it felt like I had known him forever!! Check out his site www.kenlovephotography.com As for the DJ, we haven't made a final decision yet, but are leaning toward the DJ Crew. They receive great reviews here. Chris was great to talk to!HTH

    We booked imagen for our photography, they are very creative take great photos!! For DJ we went with The DJ Crew! John is one of the owners and he really put my mind at ease with how the night will go.......a DJ can make or break the party and I feel it is very important to have a great one. If you call them let them know Jen Lukco sent you and you will save $$ I did months of research before booking my vendors and I am sure that what I went are some great choices!!! Hope that helps!

    DJ crew for DJ hands down!  they did a great job at our june 13 wedding.  give them a call and speak to john, you will be sold in the first 10 minutes!  full vendor review is in my married bio. michelle hamlin for photography, all of the pics in my married bio are from her and she beat everyone else's prices in the area.  she was wonderful and one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day!  her full vendor review is in my bio as well.  if you need contact info for each, just google them and their websites/phone numbers will show up.  GL!

    For photographer we booked Maria Sharron. She is terrific, and her prices are amazing. Check her out: www.mariasharron.com Our DJ is a family friend who has a DJ business. To be honest, I'm a little nervous about it, so I'm going to reserve recommending him until after the wedding. :)

    Hi Maria-- I used Z MEDIA for photography and DJ Skye of Jerry Bruno for my wedding this past spring. They are both in Cleveland but also do weddings in Akron. I would totally recommend both of them! You can check out the reviews, engagement+wedding pics in my bio... good luck!

    I tried to get a better deal on photography and went with a guy that has a studio on west market street named Mark Christoff- His albums were VERY nice but online stuff was not so nice...so don't be scared when you go to his website!!I booked Selective sound for DJ because I saw them in action at my Matron of Honors wedding and really didn't feel like interviewing others when I was happy with them. However, they were a little pricey. HTH

    check out Hats off entertainment for a DJ and T1 photo for photography...we have both of them booked and so far they've both been wonderful

    We are using our good friends who are engaged and have a photogrpahy studio together. We just had our engagement pictures and they turned even better than I expected. Their website: astudionow.com For our DJ, we are using another friend of ours who is a professional DJ. The website: johnnyvdj.comMy FI used to DJ, many of his friends still do, and he is a hotography buff so he was especially picky about these two aspects. Good luck!

    We are using Finest Moments and Troy Entertainment.  Both available for your area.  Most DJs and Photographers will travel in the area for weddings.

    Don't have any DJ recs as we used a band, but for photographer, I'd highly recommend Linczak Photography. They're not "budget" but their work is absolutely fantastic. We are waiting on the rest of our wedding day pics, but I have a few from the blog teasers in my married bio, and e-pics in my planning bio.

    I recommend Livigni Photography. YOu can see him online through the Hartville Market. HIs work is amazing and his books are great. It is a family business that has been in operation for years. I am using the DJ Crew. They will definately keep the dance floor alive. I have seen them several times and loved them. EVeryone was dancing and having fun. They are a 2 man crew that will not miss a beat. Refer me (heather dodson) and we both save money ;) Best of Luck :)

    We used Geoff from Hats Off Entertainment for our DJ and Leah Stafford as our photographer. Both are based out of the Canton/Akron area. We loved Geoff. He was great to work with before the wedding and was really good at getting people out on the dance floor. We still had a ton of people dancing by the time our last song was played, it was great. I haven't seen our wedding photos yet so I can't completely review Leah yet but I love all of her work that I have seen on her website and blog. My hubby and I hate getting our pictures taken but she made us feel really comfortable and was great to work with.

    Look in to Catherine McKinley Photography. She is a hidden gem!!! Loves her job and is extremely talented at what she does!!! She's also willing to work within your budget!!!!!! All of our pictures came out extraordinary! We also booked DJ Crew and were very happy with their services.

    We used Sofia Photography, http://www.sofiaphotography.com They're based in Cleveland and are awesome!  There were times in which I didn't want to smile because I was so tired and Margo and Katie still had me smiling/laughing!
