Hi Ladies, I really have no clue what stores or boutiques to start going to begin my search. Where have you guys gone that you loved? And hated, so I know not to go there too! All suggestions are welcome
I started with David's Bridal, and loved that. Because I was able to try on dresses in my size (or very close to) I really got an idea of what I loved/didn't like. I also went to K's Wedding Center in Middletown, and had a great experience there. Next up is The Town shop in Poughkeepsie, which I've heard great things about! Some people decide quickly.. myself.. I've tried on TONS of dresses!! (trying to decide WHICH is the one!) Good luck!!
I went to most of the same stores as the pp, I bought my dress at Town Shop in Poughkeepsie and have nothing but rave reviews and their alterations dept was awesome. I went to: David's Bridal K's wedding center in Middletown, Bride's Fantasy (or something like that) in Poughkeepsie (Waited for a 1/2 hour (on a Tuesday night and it was slow) and no one even acknowledged me, yet they all saw me) The Bridal Shop in Mamaroneck - Horribel experience, no one helps you, dresses were all crammed together, just miserale Town Shop - Where I bought my dress. My Consultant was Grace.
I went to The Town Shop in Poughkeepsie and b/c I live close to CT, i went to Julie Allen in Newtown, CT. I found my dress at Town Shop and also had a great experience. Although I looked at DB dresses online for style ideas, I had a horrible experience as a BM there and refused to buy anything else from them.
I got my dress at Kleinfelds in NYC, I also looked at these places- David's Bridal in Middletown-Loved it there they had a lot of dresses and were very helpful Bijou Bridal in NJ-They weren't very helpful to me Wedding Planner Boutique in New Windsor NY-They were very nice and helpful but didn't have a big selection Town Shop in Poughkeepsie-They were very rude to me and my family and pretty much told me that only one type of dress would look good on me. (I am a street size 10) which may not be the smallest but I thought they were being rediculous. HTH
I started at Davids Bridal so i could try on lots of styles with little pressure, My next stop was Reginella's in Montgomery and that was the end for me. I LOVED every second of my experience there. Rita and her staff are absolutely wonderful.
Ive heard lots of great things about the Town shop, I had to get a bridesmaid dress there and had no issues at all. Also K's Wedding center, I hated the dress but that wasnt there fault, i had no problesm with them or their alterations.
