marriage license copies

what is the cost for each extra copy? does anyone know if you JP can get copies the day he drops it off? we would love for our JP to get copies and mail them to us that day so we dont have to truck over to wolcott just to get them, as cromwell said that some town halls as quicker than others, and theyve sometimes gotten licenses the better part of a month later.

    It was $10 per copy in Wolcott. I think our minister mailed ours in so we had to get them ourselves. You could probably ask your JP. I think once they have it they certify it within a day or two.

    Oh, I remember, you had to show ID so I think you may have to get them yourself or write a letter with a copy of your ID to Wolcott.

    We just had to show ID to go get it, and it did cost $10.Just make sure your JP sends it back in early.  Because the quicker they do, the quicker you can get it.

    or you can wait 30 days and get it where you live..but you don't want to do that

    Ditto pp on the $10. We had to wait 4 weeks after our JOP dropped the license off for the certificate to be ready. In some towns, it's sooner but New Haven works slowly.

    We paid the $10 per copy when we filed for our license and then when JP submitted the forms, they mailed us the copies in the mail. We had everything by the time we got back for our honeymoon.

    I went to the town I was married in (Monroe) today to pick up some copies.  It was $10 per copy and they did not ask for my ID.  And my rabbi mailed it in.

    Blondie, I think if you mail them the check along with a letter and a copy of your ID requesting they mail the copies as soon as they're ready, I'm sure it would be fine. Maybe wait until a little closer to your date just in case so it doesn't get misplaced/forgotten. Our wedding was June 28th and the certificate was ready on July 7th so if you sent in the letter and check the wedding before your wedding, that'd probably be good.
