Wedding program question

If you had a wedding program, did you include a special note about people that no longer living.  What is etiquette here?  fiance's grandparents were deceased before he was born, do we need to include them?  I don't want to offend his family if we don't, but it kind of seems like it takes away from the specialness of the people that really did have an impact on our lives that we planned on mentioning.

    IMHO, if it's important to him, you should put it in there.  I'm sure he would have liked to have known them.  We are having memorial candles.  The program reads Lighting of Memorial Candles then lists who's lighting it and for whom the candle is lit.Also, during the Prayer of the Faithful, the reader could mention them specifically:  For the deceased family and friends of _ and _ especially ___, ___ and ___ we pray to the Lord.

    we mentioned in prayer of the faithful for all those loves ones who could not be with us... my program and POTF in bio under FAF if interested.

    We will make mention of those close to us who have passed away recently - anyone else will be mentioned during the prayer of the faithful.

    Wha? They died before he was born, so their inclusion detracts from the impact that others (who lived longer) have had in your lives? I don't get the logic at all. They are grandparents and should be honored as such. They shaped his parents, and therefore, shaped FI--an your life together. I'm sure you can find room, and honoring those who have gone before won't demean the impact others may have had on your lives.

    Aw Destiny! You make me feel all warm and fuzzy! :) Thank you. I didn't want to make anyone feel bad by the way I felt about the post, but I do appreciate you seeing my side of things as well. But I also know I can be a little over-sensitive to things like that. Back to having fun! ;D
