custom rings

I don't think I'm asknig too much for my wedding band.  I want a 5-stone ring, approx. 1/3 carat (so the diamonds are the same size as my e-ring), prong set, white gold.  But I can't find anything I like that matches my e-ring, which is pretty unique. I'm wondering if I should get it custom made.  Which jewelers do custom work?  Is it a lot more expensive than getting a pre-made one?  I'd like to spend around $500 which I dont' think is unreasonable. This link probably will get screwed up but this is almost exactly what I'm looking for, only the band is a little "off":http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-ring-white-gold_5236?metal_filter=white&band_filter=with_diamonds&show_all_pages=1&catid=126

Gary at Persona Jewelers in Kenmore Square can do ANYTHING.  We're going to use him for my rings.  I don't really know how much he'd charge for something like that, but I'd go talk to him and maybe get a quote.  Him and his wife own the shop--it's above the Kenmore Square T stop in the Hotel Commonwealth building.  GL!

I love my jeweler! ok he is not MY jeweler, but he did help both Fi and I custom design our E rings. Both of our rings are 5 stone bands in white gold. He was reasonable, I thought, and will work with whatever your budget. You pick your own diamonds ( he actually poured them on his desk, I thought that I had gone to heaven) He is in the Jeweler's Bldg downtown. We are having him design our wedding bands too. Ok enough gushing, his name is Serjeo, and this is his website. www.serjeo.comHe is so sweet, I really can't say enough about him...obviously :)

I had mine custom made at Joseph Gann.  They did an excellent job!  Great price too.

I'm getting a custom band made at BRAG (Boston Ring and Gem) There are no diamonds in it, but it will be all hand carving, and the prices are EXTREMELY reasonable. Sevik is the person that works there, he does AMAZING work and does custom orders all the time

Have you looked at Longs?  They have prong set rings like that.  Mine is somewhat similar to what you posted, but it has 7 stones (weight might be different, though).  That being said, I supplied 6 of the stones (grandma's) and bought 1 diamond and the band and the cost was over $500 (can't remember the exact amount - maybe $600 or so?  But my band was platinum, not white gold).  Anyway, the customer service was great, they gave me good advice as to what would look nice with my e ring and figured out the most economical way to incorporate the stones I had with a setting that would compliment my engagement ring.

If you're into internet shopping, you could also post your request on Pricescope.com and let those savvy people find something for you.  Good luck!
