Maroon Bells in June

Has anyone been to the Maroon Bells (Aspen) in June or have you been married up there? If so I would LOVE pics and an idea of how the weather was. I've lived in CO most of my life so I know there's always a chance of afternoon showers in the Mountains. Just curious what it would look like/ be like. Thanks!

This might kind of help you...I took a trip up there Memorial Day weekend in 2008 and the road to the Maroon Bells was closed (so naturally we hiked the 15 miles up and back) and there was SNOW! Hopefully you're thinking the end of June :)

I hiked near there in July 2008 and we encountered a lot of snow, and an icy lake.  Depends on where you're talking about - some of those higher elevations are never completely clear of snow.

This does help a lot. Thank you! I've been up there once but If I remember correctly it was the beggining of Sept. maybe the end of Aug. The air was cool but there was no snow. It's one of the most beautiful places I can think of but maybe not so fitting for a June wedding. We were thinking the middle of June but my childhood minister who I want to marry us is unavailable on the 19th so we're reconsidering our date...

hello, yes it is beautiful.  I just moved from aspen in January.  I have some pictures of the bells June 2008 if you'd like I can email them to you (smalling101483@gmail.com).  Weather in aspen is a unpredictable, i am getting married at ashcroft in July 2010.  I have seen freak snow storms in June but only once.  As far as snow on the ground if you get a light snow year like last year it should be melted.
