I'm over the moon excited, so I had to share (apparently i'm AW-ing a lot tonight.... sorry!)I have an uncle (my mom's brother) who has been a bit estranged from the family for several years. I'm estranged from my family, too, so that doesn't help. But with the wedding so close, I have really been wanting to find him and ask him to come.So I used public records to search for him (I'm a journalist, it's what we do!) and found five people with his name within a 100 mile radius of where I last knew he lived.I felt really stupid calling them up - "uh.... are you so-and-so the brother of so-and-so? I'm trying to find my uncle. Oh you're not? So sorry to bother you..."Awkward.But the fifth one was him!!! And so we got to talk and catch up and it was wonderful and I'm very happy I found him.Yay for the interwebs.
