more than cakes

any one use them?  we had a cake tasting with them the cake was yummy but the cake quote was $850.00 and i just not sure I want to spend that. fi says yes. it would be four tiers, square then round, then square then round.  the square ones would be the cris cross patter like iwbp's with a brooch, she is the only one i can think of that had that same look and then the round cakes would have this scroll design.  then there would be a feather burst (for lack of better words) in three to four places.but his grooms cake, now i told him he could get whatever he wants...i wish i hadn't he wanted a small square cake that looked like the superman symbol but instead of the S he wants J (for his name) and then the told the lady he wanted a man on the cake with a ball and chain around his ankle (wtf?) then he added the mad had to be black liek him and not to stick some blondy white man on there.  i was so embarrassed. she wanted $250.00 for that and i thought that was just crazy.

lolz to the groom's cake. It makes no sense: a superman symbol, and then a random black dude with a ball and chain. lol. I like you fi already! I think thats high for the cake. How many slices is that supposed to be?

Sounds reasonable for the grooms cake, but the wedding cake seems high to me. Is it very elaborate, are you using fondant or buttercream? I haven't worked out my cake details yet, but it is one area we were really going to try to budget heavily on. I found Klien's Bakery and Yummyville Cakes were very reasonable and I thought thier pictures looked nice.

I personally do not like More Than Cakes at all.  She totally ruined my appt, and I don't even want to tell the story because it's so annoying.  Her cake, IMO, was gross, and she was overpriced.  I would try someone else to get a good cake with great service.  I think most anyone can do what you are asking for.

I'm using Sweet Delights and Rosalyn is great. I'm pretty sure she could do what you want. Her cakes are do die for and she bakes them fresh the day of your wedding. I think her prices are reasonable, depends on if you want buttercream or fondant. She had great ideas too and was totally interested in my suggestions too. I can't WAIT to see my cake (we custom designed it). Let me know if you want her info.
