Hi everyone! I'm new to The Knot and am looking for a photographer in the area. Has anyone used Maria Linz or Rich Dutchman? Any feedback on these two or other photographers you liked would be great! Thanks!

Good question...should have added that before! We are looking for someone with reasonable prices (around or under $2500 with and digital prints and an album included). Also, someone who does a good job with the photo journalistic style but also takes all the traditional photos. (Some of the photo journalistic ones are a little too out-there for us.) Unobtrusive would be nice as well:) Thanks again!!

i am sure you probably want a professional but i have a friend who is an amature photog but she does amazing work. She went to school for it an all that good hubbub. I am actually going to be having her do my wedding. She has a myspace account that you can go check out her work if you want to. Just do a search for Angie Ohhh Photography.

I second the phtoographers Dani suggested, all have a very good reputation around these parts. I'm using Jenni from Forever-Yesterday for our wedding and she's a doll. Very personable and open to my zany ideas. We used Jocelyn Mathewes for our engagement shoot. I don't know when your wedding is, but I know she's giving birth in the next few weeks and isn't doing many weddings in the next few months. If your wedding's next year, I'd add her to your list of photographers to consider!

I used Vivian Smith. I'll be married a year this week and am still waiting on my pics (did see the proofs, just don't have the negatives, my album, etc.). Would probably not recommend.

Ok, I'm back already. This Knot Boards thing could have been a bad idea for my work productivity:)All of your engagement pics came out so well!! I just looked at Jen Lowe and Matt Fuller's websites, and they both look like they could be a good fit for us. Jen doesn't have any pricing info on her site...could you guys who used her give me an idea of her range of prices?

Thanks! ;)Yea I wasn't crazy about the pics on his site but I think that's just bc I'm not into the part black and white/part color photos. But the pics in your bio are awesome, and the rates on his site look really reasonable, so I think I'm going to set up a meeting with him soon.

Hopefully someone else will chime in and confirm this, but I'm fairly sure that Jen Lowe's prices will be over 2500. She is on the expensive side, but amazing!

Her work is stunning.We ended up going with a photographer my fiance has worked with before who cut us a special break on her rate, couldn't pass up the price!

I met with Maria Linz, and she seemed awesome and her work was amazing! She was unfortunately a little on the pricey side for our budget, but if you have the extra $$ to spend, I would DEFINITELY recommend her!I'm going with Natalie Lane Photography. Her work was very good as well and she was willing to work within our budget to give us what we wanted. GL!

Thanks for all the responses guys! I'm glad to hear a couple people have heard/seen good things from Maria Linz. Our coordinator/owner of the reception site recommended her. I set up a meeting with Maria next week...I'll let you all know how it goes! I'm also going to set up meetings with Jenni and Matt Fuller, and maybe a couple others suggested here after that.
