XP: Is it too early to ask....

(Also on June 2012)

My potential ceremony musician to play for the ceremony and let him know what songs I'd like?

It's my best friend's brother and I figure I'd have him ask 3 friends who are also musicians to play as a quartet or something.

TIA!

    um no it isn't.

I had someone I knew in mind to play piano at my ceremony, and I only thought to ask because I knew him (his wife is singing in my ceremony) that was over a year out and some bizzo bride had already contacted him about playing over a month before that. SO ANNOYED. So might as well get them booked before someone else does!

Yeah, he's just my best friend's brother. He's never actually played at a wedding before- I guess all the more reason to ask early :-P I just wasn't sure if I was getting ahead of myself or not.

Granted, he's INCREDIBLY proficient (he's played the flute for 12+ years) and so is anyone he'd be asking to play with him and the music I'd have him play is a lot less complex than what he's used to playing.

No, it's never too early!! Get it set up now and it's one less thing for you to plan, and then there's no worries your musician gets booked! And gives them more time to learn anything they don't know.
