Videographer

I just watched a wedding video on Style Me Pretty. It made me cry it was so good and now I want a videographer I think it was just so sentimental. But my sister tells me they cost an arm and a leg. Is anyone using one or know of one that is good but wont break the bank. Thanks Ladies.

We're just going to have a family member tape it. I might call around to the film school and see if they have anyone that would do it for cheap.

Good ones are expensive, it's just like the photography, you pay for what you get. Sorry I have no recs but hopefully someone will!

thats what my sister was saying about price. Maybe I'll just have them do the ceremony and not the whole night. I just think it is something down the road I would like to have. Thanks though.!

Initially when I was shopping around for prices, the cheapest videographer I found charged $500 and that was just for ceremony footage! I would recommend posting an ad on Craigslist and see what kind of response you get. That's what I did, and a woman offered to tape our wedding for only $75 because she was new to the biz (ultimately she had to cancel due to a scheduling conflict but still). Here's her website... I don't know what she charges now but you can ask: http://greeneyedgirlproductions.net/

Let us know if you find anything reasonable. I'm curious about this as well.

I found one for $500 but the quality was horrible.. I think I have found the best for the cheapest price around.. WeCover Weddings .. the contact is David.. The company is new it's actually a branch off of a really expensive videography company.. so the quality is great.. I'm paying 800 but that's for a lot of coverage! anyway his number is 651-9448 HTH!

I would def. check your local schools to see if anyone can do it! FI is a videographer, and when he was in school he did weddings for extra money! They skill needed to produce a wedding video similar to on the blog is minimal, any student, or recent grad should be able to produce the video for you.If you do go with someone from a local school make sure to check their demo reel (they should all have one!) and be open minded they may not have done a wedding before but if they have great work and take direction they shouldn't have a problem. Also be sure to ask them if the work in their demo was film BY them, if not ask to see samples. They should be able to also provide plenty of letters of recommendation from teachers as well. This will help you determine not only their skill but their reliability. Sorry this turned out to be a novel :)
