Yup, I'm gonna b*tch about the weather...

Why the hell does there have to be a hurricane on my freaking wedding weekend? Why do these things always come on the weekends?I was actually not even thinking about it until my sister calls me first thing this morning to give me the "news" of a hurricane, and is like "what are you going to do?" um...we're going to put the sides on the tent and get married. Oh, and last night FI's aunt offers to let us have the wedding at her church, which has a place for a reception also, um, thanks for the offer, but guess what, we have a place already, that we've paid for. Why is everyone acting like it's ruined before it even has come?????? That pisses me off so f'ing bad!I got a lot done last night and I was in such a good mood this morning until she called me and now I just have a big knot in my stomach.  I know there's nothing I can do, and we're still getting married, but I'm not going to lie, I am upset. I worked so hard and now the only thing that people will have to say about my wedding is that there was a hurricane. yay.

aww I'm sorry, that must be horrible. I'm going to a friend's wedding this weekend in Key West, so she is definitely freaking out about the weather! This is prime hurricane season down there right now and she's getting married on a BEACH w/no back-up plan!! I told her she's not allowed to check the weather anymore! Try not to stress about it, no amount of stress can change the weather! :) No one will remember if it rains b/c they will be too busy having a great time!

We need to get rags and Mella&T and the others who got married on monsoon weekend in October to sympathize with you

Vent away......didn't one gal on here have some great shots in the rain with umbrellas? (That may have been before ya's time.) And Joanis had that amazing shot of her and DH with the storm coming in the background. Like you said, there's nothing you can do about it. Enjoy your day regardless!

I know! I really hate feeling this way, but we can't help it I guess. I know it's still going to be beautiful, and we can still get some awesome 'rain' or umbrella pics, so that is exciting.  Now, if all my family members will zip it I'll be fine! :)

I accidentally (yea right) brought up weather.com since I am 10 days out...BIG mistake since it's supposed to be nice...but I am not counting my chickens since it can change at the drop of a hat....I know you want it to be nice but you are getting married and it's going to be wonderful rain or shine!!  And a lot of times these things blow right out into the ocean...try not to stress...although i would probably be in the same boat as you are!  People just don't know when to shut up about things like that!

Bmore - yeah...it's very difficult to resist the forecasts! I started at the 15 day forecast and I will tell you it changes every single day without fail.  Yours looks beautiful, so I hope it stays that way!

I think I am starting to feel better, this morning I felt like I was going to throw up.  Now that is getting better :) I just need to get the heck out of my office and get on with the festivities for the next few days.  After today, the rest is all fun stuff!

not that it will make you feel any better but an acquaintance of mine had her wedding at Swan Harbor last weekend (it poured) and it looked beautiful still under the tent and she looked so happy (in the pics).  I am, sure no matter what you will be a beaming bride!

Bmore- thanks for sharing! They really do have a nice tent up there, I remember seeing pics of lots of wedding under the tent and I thought they were beautiful.

Oh, honey.  If anybody feels your pain it's the 10/25/08 girls.  I think somebody upstairs should put a strict ban on weekend monsoons. :(  Try not to let it kill the moment for you -- and you're fully entitled to a few b1tchy moments if it does end up pouring.  God knows I had a few little bitty breakdowns that day.  (Our ceremony was actually supposed to be OUTSIDE!!)  Don't ever let it take away from what's really important, though.  10 months later I can tell you that I would have had a hard time forgiving myself if I had. ::hugs::

I got married on 9/27/2008 and it was pouring all day long. I was so sad that we didn't get any outdoor pictures in a park like we had been planning all along. I tried my best not to let it get me down, but it is depressing when your day isn't as you imagined it. But as the PPs have said, don't let it ruin your day. Try your best to just let go. As much as it sucks, you can't control the weather so just relax and enjoy this very special day. Easier said than done I know, but you don't want your disappointment to ruin your day. We actually snuck out during dinner to take a few outdoor shots when the rain let up for a few minutes!

I know, I feel like if I get all of my temper tantrums out today I will be ok by the weekend :) I just called my sister and apologized for being a lunatic. She said she's already warned dad not to call and complain about the weather :) Kelly - accuweather.com = 15 day forecast, it changes daily, but it gives us upcoming brides something to do at work :) ....off to peruse the rainy day bio now :) (it's so hard to find wedding stuff to do at work when you've got all your details taken care of!)

Oh thank you.  This could end up being a madness.I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!

My co-workers sister got married last Sat and was supposed to have the ceremony outside but because of the rain it didn't happen. She said her sister worried a little bit then got over it and it was beautiful regardless of the fact that they had the ceremony under the tent. But like you said hopefully your family will stop giving you the hour to hour update so it doesn't stress you out. I'll cross my fingers that the weather cooperates!

Dont worry about the weather! Hurricane or not you and your husband will be just that... MARRIED!!!!! So exciting! I know its tough though and throw all the fits you need. If i were in your shoes id be venting to. But Rags said it best- dont let it ruin your day. Just like the weather has changed everyday since you started checking- theres still time. To see it from your friends and families perspective maybe they were just trying to offer suggestions in case the weather ruined plan A.  Sometimes we take offense but they only mean to help. No matter the weather or location you will be a beautiful bride! I agree with PP'ers that some of the best wedding photos involve inclement weather shots.

Oh oh...this is my cue! Though, it sounds like you have a great attitude about it already, I can only echo Rags' comments. Yes it monsooned on my wedding day, no we didn't get the outdoor pictures we wanted but it was still the best day ever. Slowly, I am learning to let go of the disappointment of rain (it is hard seeing other amazing fall wedding shots) but you know what, it is weather and I cannot control it. All that really matters is that I married an amazing man who is reconfirming that every day with some struggles I'm going through right now.Your day will be wonderful!! Enjoy every single second! And I also agree that rainy day pictures are some of the best!! Have so much fun and keep up the good attitude you have! :)
