This Brookstone Bride is slightly annoyed

So I emailed my venue (Brookstone Park) to find out if I would be allowed to hang paper lanterns under the tent which I will be getting married under... their response was that they already have lanterns there and they are permanent because they have lights in them. They send me a picture and they are orange and yellowish/green!!! First off, they can't be that permanent beause when I visited the venue in the winter the tent was up and  there were no lanterns.I think that it is great that they offer/have them and they look really pretty but my colors are hot pink and black.. those don't go at all!  hhhmmm....

    can we see the pics? Are the globes on the lanterns removable and you can put the paper lantern over them?

    One of my BMs got married there April '10 and there wasn't any lanterns under the tent.  Same when I went to one of their bridal shows last fall/winter.

    It's too bad; I heard that since the last coordinator, Jenn, left that Brookstone hasn't been the same.

    You could always do a surprise drop in visit on a Saturday morning while they're getting ready for a wedding and see if those lanterns are actually "permanent." GL

    I think they just leave them up and don't like to take them down. One of my best friends is getting married there and we had a "Bridal Party" day where she took us out etc. She took us to Brookstone for those that hadn't seen it...it was closed but the lanterns were in the tent, and it was the middle of the week o not like they were setting up for a wedding.

    I would go there with a few of your lanterns and ask again, I'm sure they'll have a harder time saying no face to face!

    I almost booked with them for our venue, it's so pretty there. Unfortunately that  was one of the questions we asked when we toured and they gave us a definite no. It just seems like yellow and orange and such specific colors, why would they do that? Why not have them white, or give you and option to have your colors displayed. I was annoyed too. My mother insisted it didn't matter, no one would notice, but it bothered me.

    I believe you can see them if you go to their website and look through their brochere.

    Ugh! I am getting married there in April and when we went to see the tent, without the snow on the ground, we saw those lanterns. I assumed that they were for the wedding that weekend. We've been back twice after that to eat at the restaurant and I always pop back over to see if they're there and they are. I would definitely try asking face to face and see if there are other alternatives. Maybe swapping out lanterns with your colors or telling them that you want a discount if they're not removed. Maybe if enough brides complain about it, they will remove them! We are on the fence about whether or not our ceremony will be there. The ballroom is beautiful but the tent & lanterns aren't what I expected. Let me know what happens!

    I'm getting married at Brookstone next June....
    Would you please pos a picture of these lanterns as I don't recall seeing them!

    okay so of course this picture is stunning! but with that being said I am getting married in June at either 6 or 6:30 there for it will not be dark out or even slightly dark out!!! This picture doesn't show the actually colors of course! but they are yellowish/green and orange! I don't understand why they didn't go with white either! and I spoke to Alex over the phone and he kept saying they look like "sunset"...... I said they were not there when we viewed and there was no mention of them at all, i'm not happy!!!
