Hummm....(Kinda Ventish...)

Well......I am just having a hard time with living so FAR from all of the people who are some what involve with the wedding! i.e., my mom, FSIL's, Bff's....I have been trying to decide on a dress and everyone is at least at least 2 hours or more away! 2 of them are even in different states! And FI thinks I def need to have around (at least Mom) when I pick the dress, becuase every time I go looking, I find one I love (LOL)....Oh well...Just feeling kinda "Ugghhh" about this stuff right now....Just need to "VENT" about it a little, the FI can only take so much:)

    Is your mom in the same state? Is there maybe a great bridal shop somewhere in between? I would suggest maybe trying to make a fun day of it and have them try to meet you. It is a big decision, ultimately yours, but it helps to have people there.

    i know what you mean.  i live 6 hours away from anyone involved with my wedding so my mom and i made a compromise.  i'd go to dress shops around her and she'd go to some around me.   i found dresses that i liked at all of the shops, but ended up going with a dress that was closer to where i lived.my MOH lives on the west coast so i wasn't about to have her fly out.  i liked having my mom there since i could get someone else's opinion about the dress and she also will know how to get me into it since it's a corset back.good luck though.  i liked having my mom there.  when she cried, i knew that i picked "the dress".  if the bridal shop lets you (i know some don't), you could take pictures and send them to her if she can't be there.

    Thanks girls! The good thing is that my mom is the closest!....just time to make another trip out of it:)

    I'm in the same situation! I'm from the uk and my fiance's from new zealand, at the moment we're living in vancouver so we haven't a single friend or family member here to help! If it wasn't for these boards i'd go insane!

    What makes me not want to do the whole dress thing is that my mom is no longer with us to go with me and I have had that dream as a little girl. So I know the feeling. However I have two wonderful FSIL and well my sister but I am so much closer to my FSIL. Thankfully we all live in the same state/city. I think they are more excited about the wedding than we are LOL. Id say choose which one is you. Narrow them down take pictures and send them to your FSIL BFF etc. Let them make a choice as to which one they love on you. Then have a final three and go with your mom or even make a day of it if you BFF and FSIL and mom to meet at the bridal shop(s) and choose.

    Thanks! It just felt good to know I am not the only one! LOL.....Well....talked to my mom and we are going to try and meet at our 1/2 point over the weekend so that I can re-try the dress that is in the 'Lead" so that I can feel better about my choice and get another check down!!

    How about making a weekend out of it? Have her come up and have the dresses you really like already to go at the dress shops? And maybe have other wedding things ready to look at too (shoes, veil, flowers, etc...) That way you're able to get her opinions all at once. And maybe try to do this once a month or every other?

    I think I will make sure we can hit a few more place besides the dress shop (like suggested), I do need to find shoes still....LOL..Now...I can feel relief and start to get excited again... You gals always help!!

    I am a little late on this glad you have a game plan and as a bride and a mom of 3 girls I just want to give you a great big hug!  Good luck I hope you and your mom find "the dress"!
