Hey Steph, where are you stayin in Maui? We are considering Maui, possibly Playa del Carmen and maybe the Carribean. We though Aruba but realized that the flights available made it an entire day trip to get there. ;(

We're staying at the Ritz-Carlton. Travelocity had a great package and then discounted it even further so we were able to upgrade to a Club Room. I can't wait!

We are going to the ever unimpressive Galveston for our week long honeymoon since my aunt has a condo on a private beach there. Then 2 mini-honemoons to Ruidoso or New Orleans for Thanksgiving and maybe Vegas for Christmas.

Steph that is the hotel we are looking at as well. They are having a great sale right now so we are excited about the idea! How did you get a further discount through travelocity? Did you book it and then they gave you more of a discount?

We really wanted to stay there but were exploring other hotels, when they began offering the "Terrace Room" which we could afford (the cheapest room, but hey, it's the Ritz right?). So we started working on our package but didn't book it. We would check Travelocity every so often to look at pricing. All of the sudden, they had a 45% off 24-hour sale. We figured this was the lowest price we would see so we booked it. Instead of saving more money, we opted to upgrade the room instead. We checked with the Ritz directly and my travel agent at work before booking but no one else was offering the same price. So in essence, we just got lucky.

Steph, that is awesome! Did you book the flight with travelocity or did you do it on your own? The flights are $600 non-stop to Maui right now and that is the best price I have seen (and non-stop is hard to beat!) and I don't want it to go away! But, we aren't 100% positive on our trip yet. It's always a timing/luck game!

Yes, we did it all through Travelocity. I think when we booked, our flights had gone down to like $525 or something (we could have gotten the same price through American though--it was really the hotel that was the great deal.)
