Botox at 23?

Seriously?  I wouldn't get it regardless... they don't even know the long term effects on it yet.  But, yeah, 23?  Seriously judging my friend right now.  Her and I were best friends in junior high, and now we just keep in touch through FB.

Re: Botox at 23?

  • I don't object to Botox in theory, but at 23, there are WAY more preventative measure that can be taken than resorting to that. Like sunscreen and staying out of the sun. Or creams with anti-oxidants. Or LOTS OF THINGS.
On bed rest since Groundhog's Day and every day since has been exactly the same.

  • For cosmetic reasons, definitely ridiculous at 23.But I did read recently that botox injections can help people with frequent migraines, not sure of the validity but... maybe?

  • Wow!  23 seems too young for that.  There have to be other things to try when you're that young.

  • Why would you even NEED to have botox at 23?
  • My sister had it at 27 for her wedding day. We both have the same crease between our eyes, and she didn't want it in her photos, so she had botox a few days before and there wasn't a crease to be found. But she says she'll never do it again; it was just for that day. I think botox at 23 is nuts. But I'd totally do it if I could afford it to prevent that stupid crease, I don't care how old I am.
  • She says it's all about preventative measures.  But, I agree with others there are plenty of other things you can do before hand.  She's always been all about appearances though.  In highschool she wouldn't go near any guys that didn't have PERFECT teeth, body hair, etc.

  • If she's already getting Botox at 23, just imagine all the work she'll have had by the tiime she's 55ish, when other people start stuff like that. I'll never get Botox. I don't believe in trying to combat Father Time. He will get you in the end. Having said that, I am not against a chin lift later in life. I already hate my profile (chicken neck), and judging by my mom and grandma, it's only gonna get worse. But that's so that my hangy neck doesn't get caught in stuff moreso than I think I'll look younger.
  • TJ, Botox doesn't change the appearance of skin, it relaxes facial muscles. By relaxing facial muscles, it relaxes tension and some facial lines. I will be starting. Preventive botox soon.
  • I think when people take drastic measures to look younger, they just end up looking fake.  So then they look old AND fake.  Anyway, I can't think of a good reason for a 23-year-old to get Botox.  That's just dumb.
  • At her age it might be crazy but does she. Crease her brows sometimes? Those fine lines in the forehead can get bad and hurt. I am all for making you feel better abut yourself. Botox isn't altering your look, it restores what has aged. If she wanted a brow lift, that would be strange but botox is really minor.
  • If she's already starting at 23, by the time she's 30 she'll be having to go in every week to receive the shots. The initial treatments last no more than 6 months and decrease in longevity from there. I hope she's get herself some pretty pennies and has a bunch of time on her hands!

  • I try not to judge because we all have our insecurities, but it seems like if she's that unhappy with herself at 23 how is she going to be at 50 or even 30.  That's just sad.
  • I am 27 and I have had botox, but not in my face.  I got it in my armpits because I sweat a lot.

I dont like botulism in my food, and I dont like botulism in my face, regardless of my age. Thats really sad.
  • i had a bit done in my forehead back in the spring. i had a huge frown line that really bugged me so i wanted to try it out.it definitely got rid of the crease, but it's not something that i would do every 3 months to maintain i don't think.  the line hasn't come back yet either.i know someone who is addicted to botox.. her forehead doesn't move. and she's 41. it's a little alien looking for sure.everything in moderation.it sure is cheap here though, holy. and fast! got it done on my lunch break.i'm 28 btw.
