Help me deal with this

My best friend from nursing school doesn't think I should get married yet.  She was my first MOH, and now she thinks my FI and I should date longer.  We're getting married in July.  She says she would be the MOH if I got married in 2011.  How do I deal?  This hurts.

Well, she's your best friend for a reason.  Having no insight into if Nursing school ended last week or in the 80's, I can't really tell if you have been through thick and thin together or if you were great party buddies.

Best friends don't tend to rain on their friend's parades without a reason.  So if you haven't already sat down with her and asked the obvious question, "why?" you should.  And you should listen to what she tells you.  If she wants to lose 60 lbs before your wedding so she will look great, you can blow that off.  But if she says that she believes you entered this relationship on  the rebound and are moving too fast and she's worried about you-- then you may want to seriously listen to her.  Bouncing the same question off other people who you TRUST (siblings, mom, other BFFs) and finding the same answer or a different one may help as well.  ~Donna

Right1 is right on the money on this.  We don't know the backstory, so it's hard to assist with this one.  Were you married and divorced in 2008, and now planning on getting married already?  Or were you married in 1990, lived in an abusive situation, and just recently got divorced?  Or is this a friend who tends to be jealous, and someone who is toxic to you?   Either way, read Right1's answer.
