What the Heck....it's Friday anyway!

So, since it's Friday and I have been wanting to go home since before I got here.  And to add insult to injury, I'm in a freakin skirt suit today because we have Board meetings (WTH???)...allow me to entertain myself as well as hopefully a few of you ladies.Every since Ladysun posted about knowing about her "surprise" shower, I have been thinking about this episode of A Different World where Whitley found out about her surprise birthday party.  I used to LOVE a different world, in fact, I know most of the episodes by heart.  (Dorky, I know).  Anywho, I A Different World was the way college was going to be, the same way I thought high school would be like Saved By The Bell.  LOL.  So, did anyone else watch that show?  If so, what was your favorite episode?My fav by far is the wedding of Whitley and DeWayne, the two part episode.

    What are we twins? I was convinced that HS would be like SBTB and 90210 and for sure thought that college would be like ADW. I guess it explains why I assumed that I was going to be half of a professional and cultured black power couple *a la Claire and Cliff* - but I'd just have one kid. I love the episodes when Denise was gone and Whitley and Dwayne took their rightful place as super couple. I love their wedding and also love the episodes with Kinu. One of my fave is when Dwayne's mom came to visit and Whitley was the maid. "It's Kinu, Ki-NU!" Girl, I have so many more. I love this topic. I'm a dork too :).

    Yes girl, yes!  Whitley would say stuff like "whatever you say Ke-lo-lo."  I loved how she would constantly and purposely mispronounce Kenu's name.  Kenu though she was better than Dwayne and all his friends, she needed to go.  Remember when they spilled the prune cobbler and Patti Labelle (Dwayne's mother) went off???  She was serious about her prune cobbler.

    I love that episode with Kinu! My fav is also Part 2 of the wedding. When he says "baby please" I nearly fell out.

    LMAO, yeah, she was. Patty can play the "neck rolling" woman like nobody's business. They hit casting gold with that one. You also can't beat Debbie's "Relax, Relate, Release". That Christmas episode was too funny. I damn near fell off my chair when she adjusted her wig. I also loved the mammy episode with Kim and the episode when she thought she was pregnant (really early on). Lenny really laid into her. Lmao @ Walter "Don't say another word unless somebody's dead or pregnant." I wish I could remember Walter's condom quotes.

    Another fav was when Whitley called into the Montell Williams show and started complaining about Dwayne working a lot and she said "Big Daddy just don't do me no more."  That was HILARIOUS!  And my fav part of the episode is when Dwayne waited up for her to get back from going out with Kim and he was listening to "Baby, It's Cold Outside" and explaining to her how hard it is to leave her every morning to go to work.  Loved it!  My fi did that to me this morning.  He stayed with me last night because we had 5 car break-ins night before last.  And when he was leaving for work at 3:30 a.m. I caught a glimpse of him starring at me from over the bed with that "DAMN, I really gotta go?" look.  So sweet...love that man.

    I like the episode when Kim thought she was pregnant. Ever since then I made sure I had my "Lettie Be Ready Date Pack" in my purse. I also like the wedding episode when Dwayne broke up the wedding. I still cry. And the one where Whitley thought she was pregnant. I thought about that episode when I brought all them pregnancy tests. LOL I thought me and my BFF's were all going to grow up and be together forever like Facts of Life, but now I realize I can't live with them heffas. LOL

    You guys have me crackin' up this morning! I loved "It's A Different World". That relax, relate, release episode was hilarious (I had to do it at my desk). My fav is also Part 2 of the wedding. When he says "baby please" I nearly fell out. I feel you! When Dwayne walked in and asked "will you" and the preacher said "blessed are those who ask a question brother", I nearly fell out.     I looooved that show!  I have so many favorites.  One of my favorite episodes is the one when Kimberly Reese did this Nikki Giovanni poem called Ego Trippin'.  I love Nikki Giovanni and I looooove that poem.  I think the show was about Aunt Jemima and negative images of African Americans.
