Hair/Makeup in Saratoga Springs

Hi Everyone,

I am looking to hire someone to do the hair and makeup for mysef and my bridal party for my wedding in Saratoga Springs. However, all of the salons that are recommended by my other wedding vendors are VERY very expenisive. While I know that this is an improtant step to ensure we all look wonderful for the whole day, none of us will be looking to wear very dramitc makeup or intricate and detailed hairstyles, and I simply cannot justify spending that kinda of money, or making my bridal party spend that kind of money, on something that will last only till bedtime!

Does anyone here have suggestions of reasonably priced stylists or makeup artists in the area? I am even thinking of having all of my girls come on a trip to Sephora for a make up trial and just buy the products they will need and do their own makeup on the day off..at least then they will have something they can use many times for their money.

Also, why are the prices for Bridal party services always $40+ more than the same service would be if I was not getting married that day? If it includes champagne or special treatment, i dont want it, I just want my hair done! :-)

I appreciate any suggestions and insight you guys can offer me, I am looking forward to booking someone soon!

    I just booked Lipstick N Lashes out of Ballston Spa for hair and make-up for my wedding in Saratoga.  They have amazing reviews online.  They will come to you and do hair and make-up on site.  They charge $60 for hair and $60 for make-up for bridesmaids and $70 each for the bride.  Trial is extra, but I believe it's worth it.  I shopped around a bit price-wise and this seemed to be quite reasonable for the quality of work they do.  Good luck!

    Siplicity salon in Saratoga on Henry seems more reasonable than some other places and I really like how they do hair. I can definitely recommend that salon. Below is the link to their bridal services:

    Make Me Fabulous in Ballston Spa is amazing! They are a little more than the cheapest BUT they use bare minerals and MAC makeup so its the best quality for the price = )

    Hands down Make Me Fabulous.  I am using them for my wedding hair and make up, but I also use them for my regular hair needs, such as cut and color.  Alayne, the owner, is amazing!

    I can't recall her last name, but she was willing to travel to Latham to do our hair at the hotel. I also can't remember what I paid, since it was 2 years ago. but she was awesome!
