Photographer for Rehearsal Dinner

We are looking for a photographer to come to the rehearsal dinner.  We would like to do a photo booth and have casual shots of the families, grooms cake cutting, and toasts.  Does anyone know of a photographer that is just getting started that would be able to take these kind of photos? We are not looking to spend a large amount of money on this.  Our engagement photographer is unavailable and our wedding photographer is way to expensive for what we're looking for.

    NC is a big state.  You want someone to shoot your RD that won't charge a lot.  If the photographer I recommend in Charlotte needs to travel to Raleigh for your RD then there will be some hefty travel charges and it would not be worth your time to contact them.  So let us know where your RD will be and people near that area may have some good recs for ya!

    If you come here for recommendations, then knowing the general location helps a lot of us out when it comes to actually being able to recommend someone. If your RD is in Boone, Im not going to recommend someone from Raleigh. As PP said, that travel cost would be rather high, even if it is for a photographer that is just starting out.

    NC isn't a small state. You'll ideally want recommendations of vendors that will be in at most, 1hr away from you and even then, you might get a travel fee added on.

    If you simply want to research, then I suggest Google. Just google 'photographers' + the location your RD is at.

    Lots of helpful advice can be given, we just need to know the general location. You may also want to throw in the relative budget you're looking at too as everyone has a different perception of cost.

    You asked a general question, and got someone who was wiling to go out of their way to help you.  And you think that's the reason the board has "fallen off so badly" ?

    I didn't disagree that the board is different.  But you seem to have really contributed lately to making it the lively place that it is.

    If you were SO familiar with how things use to go around here.  Why were you surprised about being asked for a region?
