Wedding Websites

I'm confused about these and hoping someone can answer my questions. I noticed that several of the ladies here have created more than one website for their wedding details. If all the details are posted on here - don't most of the guests know what to expect before they come to the wedding? I'm looking at STD's and several request an email address for the website - how do you determine which website you use and how much information you give your wedding guests? Please help with this confusion...thank you.

A lot of people on here have planning websites for the knot and separate websites for their wedding guests. Initially, I used google.sites for my planning website, but I maxed out my space.  So I switched over to weebly.  This website is the one listed in my signature.  It has all of my planning details.  For our guests, we bought our own domain name and hosting service.  I built the website through iWeb.  However, our family is spread throughout the country/abroad and it will serve as 'our family' website for years to come.  This website has all of details pertinent to our wedding (lodging, other weekend events, where we are registered, our blog, etc.)  I have maps/detailed directions to the different event locations.  I made a comprehensive page for OOT guests, so that they are aware of what else there is to do in the area.  We also have picture hosting on this site.

The Bios that we create are for knotties to look at. I had a seperate wedding website with very little on it. Like my guests knew it was at a winery with vineyards around and I posted one picture of the site. Which they could have found from the venue website.

I used ewedding.com for my "pretty" wedding site for guests. It has venue info & pics, hotel info, a cute quiz and a poll and a guestbook for well wishes. It also has music that plays while you are viewing the site. I used weebly.com for my planning bio. It's more like a scrapbook of ideas & finished projects for only me & knotties to see. I don't want my guests to see this, I want them to be surprised at the wedding.

I used freewebs for my knot bio and mywedding.com for my guest web site. There is a link to my guest web site in my bio (now that the wedding has past) if you would like to check it out.
