PLESE post suggestions!!!!!I'm local to coral springs so I'm looking for something within an hours distance tops...thanks guys :)

I suggest a county park with dense trees and man made lakes.  Do it on a rainy day.  Then you'll definitely have mud.

I think there is a small lake/body of water at orchid park in coral springs - not 100% though :)

Well, if you really want some cool Glades like pictures, I would recommend that you go to Big Cypress.  The water will be shallow and you will be able to reasonably see any big bad stuff, which really isn't their preferred habitat (they are where the big fish are).  But, you will surrounded by the big beautiful bald cypress trees.  I have mucked around alot of wetlands in the Glades and Belize and have been in the water with plenty of gators and crocs.  Honestly, I would be MUCH more confortable in Big Cypress than I would be in a lake where it is deep and i can't see anything.  That being said, you will have to deal with knocking down some spiders (blech).

How about Quiet Waters Park? http://www.broward.org/parks/qw.htmThey have a lake where they do water skiing, it says the water skiing is closed on tuesdays, but I think you could also probably go in the evening. I am pretty sure there is even areas where you could get pictures that you wouldn't be able to see the water skiers even if you go during that time, but you would have to check it out.HTH

I really want to do big cypress but my biggest concern is snakes and alligators...Do you know of any other place that might be considerd safer?  Or what about mudding holes?
