  Number one, calm down on the punctuation. Number two, if that's your real email address, please consider changing to a new name on here. People can find out way too much about you by just your email address. And number three, to answer your question -- no, I don't think it's too early. Depending on where you live (and the weather), people might still be in summer mode, but September does signify the start of fall and so pumpkins would be fine. However, I just have to ask -- who will be carving those pumpkins? You can't carve a pumpkin too much ahead of time or it starts to brown, and you're not going to have time the week of the wedding to carve lots of pumpkins. Also, if you're doing pumpkins on all the tables, keep the rest of the decorations simple and sleek, or else it'll all be too much.

  Not at all! We are having a fall themed wedding on 9.24.10 and plan to use pumpkins, gourds, etc... as decorations at the reception!It's your wedding do what you want! Just don't carve too early!

  I think pumpkins are fine for Labor Day weekend as long as your other decor isn't summery and it isn't 90 degrees.  If you use pumpkins, I would use artificial ones (Funkins look the most realistic - [url]<a href="http://www.funkins.com" rel='nofollow'>www.funkins.com</a>[/url]) instead of real ones to cut down on the mess and possibility of spoilage.  Lots of fall brides have their monograms carved into pumpkins, or you could carve each table number on one for each table.  You might need to get a special saw or tool to carve the Funkin, though - and it will probably take time.  Once they are carved, you can use a battery-powered tealight or votive to light them.  If you are set on this idea, you will probably want to get your supplies (Funkins and cutting tools) this Halloween season, as you might not have time to do the pumpkins before your wedding next year, depending on when fall items appear in craft stores in late July - August.  You might even be able to find this stuff on sale after Halloween or towards the end of the fall season (when the Christmas stuff takes over).  If you do numbered pumpkins, you could probably try to sell them to another bride after your wedding.  So, I don't think I would carve your monogram on every table's pumpkin - maybe one for your own table.  Here's a Funkin if you don't know what I mean.  They come in many styles and sizes (also in a creamy white):[img]<a href="http://i30.tinypic.com/2ez7l9s.jpg" rel='nofollow'>http://i30.tinypic.com/2ez7l9s.jpg</a>[/img]

  If it was officially fall I would say it would be ok but since its labor day and still summer, I say no, IMO.
